Deandre Johnson official measurements and DT talk

You also have ford commited who is 270-275 and is a 3tech and i think kool is going to get conliffe out of va.
In my mind, Ford is a given to slide inside. I like what Bethel has shown in space, but am open to him sliding to Mcintosh's spot, too. Again, we're still left with a vacancy or two. We also need a bigger, more stout guy. At times, Norton slides and shades the C as a 0 or 1T. It's part of what we do. I don't see a guy on the roster with that size and skill set. And, the incoming guys aren't in that mold, either.

Conliffe would be intriguing. Wonder what the official size difference between the listed measurements of Conliffe (6'4" 260) and someone like Deandre Johnson (6' 3" 240) really might be.

Conliffe is listed at 6'4 305.

Thanks. He definitely doesn't look it. And, I was going off info that hadn't been updated:

Most sites have him at that weight now but i seen a interview and they listed him around 285-290. He looks like he is more around that 285-290 range.

Sounds good. I'd still go after 1 more.

Johnson is about 250-260 right now.

This kid was stabbed a year and a half ago and almost died. Lost a ton of weight and was really skinny. He still has room to get up to like 275-285 IMO

Whoa, whoa whoa. We can't just blow by this! This ************ got STABBED? SIGN HIM UP! Dude took steel to the guts, I promise you he's a goon

He better than conliffe and maybe a better prospect than ford. I am shocked coach Kool is not on him did you see his first step and hand technique?

A crazy *** girl stabbed him.

LuCane i think the reason they arent after johnson is size. Most of the guys kool seem to like are 6'4 and 270-300 range.

Ford, conliffe, mathis etc are all in that range. Even martin last year was 6'4 280. Most of his guys at missouri was in that similar range too.

It's my suspicion as well, as it's in the title of the thread. But, Pete says he's probably 255 right now. If he's 6' 3", I think it's worth the projection because of how lean he is right now. Could be a guy who explodes to 285 after a full RS season. Anyway, we shall see. It's nice to trust the position coach/staff for once.

Football Wise... its seems that this kid would be a no brainer to take or even to recruit....I find it very hard with this staff not KNOWING about this kids and not really recruiting him

Gotta be something behind the scenes....

LSU and BAma are after Conliffe and Mathis. From all accounts, Mathis is the priority. I've read that Conliffe has grade issues.

That said, we are competing against LSU and Bama for this kid...

I'd sign him just to steal a guy from UT. Add to that the fact that he looks like a player to me.

This is an old school UM DT prospect, and Diaz has that old school mentality. Get a smaller savage like this, let him eat and lift for a couple years and unleash him as a RS Soph to shoot gaps and fck QBs.

NT is the ugly elephant not being addressed. There's not even one being groomed and/or committed. I suppose Fines technically is, but I suspect he leaves after the year.

Richt has a history of Juco NT's though. I posted his NT recruits in Richt's Recruiting if anyone wants to see his history.

That's what this thread is about. I mention the 0/1 in the post above. Was writing it while you were writing yours, apparently. These are the little things that need to come together in order to put together championship teams and runs. Because you can't go "we have a great front 7 this year" and then "we lost our front, but have a great back 7 the following year." Ideally, at some point, it all comes together.

At UGA Coach Richt's teams looked for more of the True 2 Gap NT or 0 Tech type. Where as Coach Diaz's wants a more athletic 1-Tech which that has power and even more importantly the athletic range to not only shoot the gap beating their man but also collapse the pocket. Finding 300lbs that can run are almost as difficult as finding a good 0 Tech.

This is why landing a big athletic SDE/DT like Phidarian Mathis (if LSU wants then he is theirs), Elijah Conliffe , or Alec Johnson (Auburns to Lose) is important for 2017. With Courtel Jenkins in the dog house and Kendrick Norton gone after 2017 depth at the 1 tech position is going to be thin in 2017 and non-existent after that.

An I agree Ryan Fines is most likely encouraged to move on after the spring. An as for Deandre Johnson Coach Kool likes interior dlinemen that are long and big but can run like a deer. So at 6'1" Johnson appears to be to short.

Miami recently also inquired about Nebraska decommitt Robert Porcher who is 6-2 250.Looks like a future DT and his pops was a heck of a DL for the lions. It really is a head scratcher to pass on this local kid.

I like the fact Miami is looking at him in order to keep Miami's options open, But I get the feeling it is more for recruiting PR move.

Said it since we got Ford. Need at least 3 DTs. Just Ford won't cut it. Hopefully Martin turns into something.

When I say not addressed, I mean by our coaching staff.
