Dealing with the cold...

It shouldn't be an issue for guys who are playing. You may not want to hear it but I don't want ball carriers wearing sleeves bc Under Armour is slick and it could impact ball security. I'd prefer defensive guys go sleeveless but it's of little significance. All the moving that guys getting snaps will do combined with what should be a heightened emotional state because it's a game should keep them just fine.

If its 30 and in afternoon with the sun out it will feel like 60-70, we are going to run like deer. Miami -3

Cold weather affects passing more than rushing, hence hurts them more than us. O-line needs to take over.

Just finished a ride in Huntsville MTB trails, where it's 35 right now and no problem after your face goes numb in the wind. You move around great, but like another poster said, it's when you hit the cold hardened ground it frikkin hurts (without pads). In football gear - should be no worries.

we need 15 drives like the last one at UNC.....lots of gus and Dallas when 2nd short let Morris throw a few easy ones...run the ball and we got this

Does anybody have any tips for dressing to play in the cold.
Please don't use the macho sheet about bare arms and no gloves.
These Miami boys are not going to ignore the cold.
I remember reading about Joe Namath wearing panty hose for warmth. There must be a more modern high tech answer by now.
Any other tips would be appreciated.

LMAO are you kidding me???

Cut it out with that ***** bull****, for real. It's cold, it ain't gonna kill you. It ain't gonna hurt you. It's just uncomfortable, so the **** what. It's uncomfortable for the other team too. You know what you do, you keep moving, you ignore it and quit thinking about it.

This team better not be affected by the cold. That speaks directly to the toughness of the team.

They better not be wearing no **** panty hose either. ******* *** ****.

They're not playing in grandpa's backyard either, they're playing at an NFL stadium with a professional grounds crew. The field will be in good condition.

How does it hurt them more? Have you watched us this year? Have you seen Coley's play calling outside of Wake Forest and UNC in the 2nd half? We'll go hurry up and 3-4 or 5 wide. Coley won't have the patience for ground and pound. Did you watch the Duke game? We were gashing them, but Coley continued to spread the formations out and throw the ball.

I'm from Chicago... the cold is not an issue. The field freezing over and feeling like your getting tackled/slammed into concrete is an issue.
We just need to be the ones doing the slamming and we will be fine. ;)

You're from Chicago, the players are not. I grew up in Miami, went to college in New Orleans and grad school in Tallahassee before moving to Chicago for 4 years. I never got used to the cold. From walking the dog to playing soccer outside in the cold, I was miserable. You're kidding yourself if you think it's not a factor at all.

1. you went grad school in Tallahassee
2. you play soccer

your dead to me

For a team that has been blown out in warm weather to inferior teams, cold weather is no excuse.

Not like we are this fine tuned machine, where cold weather is an equalizer.

If anything, it helps us. Our D couldn't be worse, and cold doesn't help Pitt's offense at all.

actually the cold can both hurt you and kill you, at the same time as well!

and to answer the question yes there are. Same type of items that snowboarders/skiers wear. The problem is depends how long you are standing around the sidelines. By being mentally strong it means keeping your mind off the cold and focusing on the game and keeping yourself moving, otherwise you just want to get it over with and get to the hotel room.

When is the last time a football player died of the cold? When is the last time a football player was injured from the cold?

Yeah, thought so.
