DE Recruiting

We will have 6 DEs in 2018 and 6 DTs with Bethel playing SSDE in 2018 and 2019. Not ideal but not catastrophic.

In 2019, we'll play Ford, Silvera, Martin, and Miller at DT with Bethel, Patchan, Rousseau, and Garvin at DE. We'll need to add 3 DTs and 3 DEs to this depth chart in 2019, plus one more swing DE/DT.

2019 class=

Daxon, Brown, and Tyler Davis at DT.
Bogle, Williams, and Rian Davis at DE.
Ingraham as the swing SSDE and DT.

That 19 DL class will work.

We need 7 DL in this class.

Work the numbers how you want, but we need 7.

I would take 3 Pure DEs minimum. 3 pure DTs minimum. And 1 who could play both or versatile.

Note just read lexcane post lol.

Need atleast 3 DEs in this class kool left us with no depth at all at the position same said for DT also, Simpson gotta show up on the trail

no but jagoffs still want to say Bethel can play SDE. lol. we don't have and don't play 290lb d ends.

i'll take 2 guys and a JUCO.

But we dont know this guys pedigree for his lineman.

As we can see..Kul pretty much had a prototype for his DE's. Typically guys in the 6'4-6'5 range..not to heavy..any where from 220-240 coming in. Basically Alden Smith types. Bogle and Williams are Kul Types.

I'd like to focus on Williams/Bogle.... then pan out to Metro Atlanta (they have a few kids)...and for whatever reason even though Diaz coached in the area...we NEVER go in Miss....That State produces DL...and this year they have like 4 4 star dl. We should have offers out there

We definitely need to offer more guys on the DL as a whole. We won’t get all the FL kids we want so we need to expand the board. Every other position we have bigger boards and more to choose from, at least more kids we lead for where we don’t have to expand the board

yeah we don't need a juco. Bethel, ford, silvera and miller will be a nice rotation and then whatever young guys show up.

They are aiming to take 3 DT and 3 DE.. Obviously that changes if blue chip wants in

This is what I'm most interested in. Will he see future recruits that are like Chatfield as takes from the start of stick with that type of player

When Miami has had a good defense, we've had a deep and talented defensive line.
We do not have a deep and talented defensive line this year, mostly due to poor recruiting in the last 3 years.
I suspect our defense may take a step back this year, especially when (not if) some of our D-line get hurt.

when Miami had a good defense, I don't remember having a rotation of 6 guys at both d end and dt. I remember there being 2 starters and maybe 1-2 other guys who gave them breaks. I don't remember needing to be 3 deep at those positions and guys not being able to play most of the game.

Maybe not if our LBs and DBs step the **** up next season.

Most schools don’t... the depth we had last year was a luxury. Clemson not rotating their dline like that throughout the game

I almost think we rotate too much and don't give guys enough time to get "into" the game before they're pulled out and given breaks.
We do and I’ve said that in the past, yeah we were deep and everybody played. Fact is we won’t be as deep but it will still be a talented dline period with experience

We need to keep up with going for these prototype builds imo.
Guys that are long, and have great bend are the guys that will get the most sacks off the edge.

At dt, im all for getting whoever, because big *** dts aren't always the ones that produce best, i mean look at Aaron donald. I like going for the tweeners and putting them at 3tech.
