In addition to Penn State, Miami, Michigan, Florida State, USC, Oregon and Georgia each reached out to learn more about Mathis and his situation, a source told 247Sports.

An interesting twist in the situation is whether Mathis will sign during the Dec. 4-6 period or wait until early February to make a decision. "He could definitely wait," a source said. "There is no reason to rush to a decision." Since Imhotep does not allow early graduation, Mathis could wait and not sign, which would allow him more time to make official visits.
