To be fair the kid did say those words in an interview. People say stupid stuff in interviews all the time — doesn’t mean the interviews get shelved/media outlets don’t report on the interviews.

Sometimes it's best not to report anything at all. But, unfortunately, content drives clicks, and discretion goes by the wayside.
