DAY 7 PRACTICE THREAD

Matt Porter ‏@mattyports 9m

Asked Golden if Kaaya shows him anything that makes him think he could not handle the big stage Sept. 1 at Louisville: "Zero. Zero percent."

I honesty don't believe Golden has decided this race yet, we have a couple scrimmages and a few more weeks of camp to decide that.

Everyone crying that goldens gonna hand the job to Heaps is delusional. If kaaya thoroughly outplays him **** get the nod, if its close though he may go with the senior on the road in game 1.

Golden understands this is his time and there are no excuses, he needs wins NOW to continue the recruiting momentum and to get you fans off his back. He will go with whoever he believes gives him the best chance to win.

There is no more loyalty to players that stuck through the sanctions, no more anything just Win.

I really don't see Olsen finishing the season here. Kaaya seems well ahead of him already and he just got here.

Al Golden today: "That practice in helmets right there, that was as good as I've ever been around."

Trying to remain realistic, but comments like this get my fired up.

I got laughed at for saying Courtel Jenkins would have a better future than Valentine. Kid was born to play NT. Haven't seen a true freshman with that kind of build since #75.

It's a win/win situation, actually. IF Kaaya starts, it means he's darn good. If Heaps starts, it means he's at least good enough to hold off a good young QB and EARNED the starting job. I think Kaaya is the future, but I don't mind one bit if he doesn't start day 1.

One thing that keeps jumping into my head is this. What if Ken Dorsey had won the starting job as a true freshman? Odds are we don't lose at Washington in 2000 if he had a season of starts in 1999. If Kaaya is ready, I'm all for him starting right now. It could pay off huge next year.
lol @ guys pumping Kaaya just so they can throw a tantrum when he doesnt start the first game.

We lost that Washington game because of horrible play calling on offense and defense in the first half

Anyone else think our DB crew is going to be a **** problem for ACC quarterbacks this year? I really do. I'm excited to watch them. We got Artie and Antonio Crawford fighting for 3-4 on the depth chart and we have 4 safeties that can all play at a high level. Ready.
