DAY 10 PRACTICE THREAD

Wow on Njoku. Not gonna overreact though. Just heard an interview with Vic Beasley and how they moved him all around before "settling" on OLB/DE. That turned out okay.
Same. He's a **** of an athlete that's for sure. Just never thought about him moving to the defensive side this early.

I really like it. I see tall high jumper snacking down passes over the middle. Gonna be lot harder to drop balls over him. What is the kid's vertical? As much as I want out TEs over the middle back, I want some big tall bad *** on defenses stopping the other team from it.

Golden on Kaaya: "He came in at 228, he's 206 now. He leaned out. His endurance is good...he's better in the pocket."

"He loves the game"

Golden on Kaaya's sucess: "Little bit of calmness you don't normally see. His feet tell him where to go." #UM

Matt Porter ‏@mattyports 13s
Golden explained how much Kaaya has sacrificed: beaches, sightseeing, social life in Miami ... he's about ball.

Golden on whether he'd feel trepidation starting a true freshman QB at Louisville: "Absolutely not. Not based on what I've seen."

Golden said he wouldn't be scared to put a true freshman out there at QB on Opening Night #UM

waiting for the jake heaps praises from him that will make everyone here ****ed

the trayone gray move would bother me more. that guy is a lethal weapon on offense. no way in **** should they waste his talents at lb. we have enough frickin freshmen lbs to develop.
Matt Porter ‏@mattyports 20s
Golden on Njoku: is he an H-back, X-WR or Sam? 6-4, 230 ... taking a look at him at Sam b/c length/size combo. Doing same w/ Trayone Gray.

Here's to hoping the int's are a sign of an aggressive secondary and a qb being pressured to get rid of the ball quickly.

Just dont ****ing put gray on defense please specially not at Lb

I think it's referring to try him out at various positions like RB, WR and maybe in the wildcat, etc. not necessary at LB. Now safety might not be out of the realm of possibilities...

For some reason when i read this.. i automatically thought of Aldon Smith. his measure when he came out of high school. 3 star as well.

Ht:6'5"
Wt:235 lbs
40:4.68 secs
Vertical:31 inches
Class:2008 (High School)

if he has that defensive mindset he could be really good.

Golden said WR Rashawn Scott is going to be out "some time." Calls it an exotic injury, not customary. Not season ending #Canes

****.

I'm in the camp that if Scott can keep his head on straight and body in check, he could be a stud. He brings a presence that none of our other receivers have at the moment.

With his length and athleticism, Njoku could develop into an absolute nightmare coming off the edge. We just need to see if he was a motor and the toughness need to play that position.

Obviously, better to find out sooner rather than later, could be a beast as he has the physical tools.

Now I know how FSU felt about Winston. Not saying Kaaya is THAT good, but he's the most exciting prospect we've had in a while. Love hearing that he is a hard worker.

Man I really hope that Kaaya wins the job...and I'm thinking that he actually will...granted we talkin' 'bout practice, but it feels good to be excited about a QB.

This is actually very true. It's exactly like Winston. I remember getting calls on a daily basis from my boys in Tallahassee who were effusive in their praise of Winston as soon as he hit the practice field as a freshman. And while Winston is a transcendent talent and I'm not going to put Kaaya in his category (yet), there is no question Kaaya is smarter and more mature than Winston. The fact the coaches have uniformly praised Kaaya tells you something about his character and personality. He's clearly confident but neither ****y nor entitled. If he were, the coaches would try to knock him down a few notches. But they don't, ever, which tells me he's solid as a rock upstairs and doesn't need to be motivated.

I agreed. Don't think Chocolate played any defense at CC. Seem to remember his coach saying something about him not liking it. We are not deep enough at RB to take Chocolate away from that. After a bunch batter, stiff arm bruise, and chase exhaustion from Duke, twisted ankles from Joe, I am thinking that a little Chocolate shake and bake is going to be just to much for even the criminole defense to handle.

Please do not put Brad's name on the same page as that scumbucket criminal. Kaaya will bring us a NC and a Heisman without the shame and discuss that surrounds that other guy.

Man that kid can't catch a break. I really want to see him do well because he wasn't highly recruited, had tons of doubters, but in his time on the field he has performed well.

Weird that he had another shoulder injury. Hopefully he makes it back stronger than ever.

If Brad does that, then he will be on not one, but two of the same pages as Winston. As for comparing their character, there is no comparison, which I believe was one of my points.
