David Thompson will do spring ball

No, that article says that Thompson will be doing baseball and may participate in some football practices if there is time. Basically, he's playing baseball.

It sucks that baseball only has like 11 scholarships they cut up in 25% scholarships to pass out to like 25 scholarship baseball players. I have worked with guys that got full scholarships at Miami of Ohio for bowling. Baseball gets screwed by limited scholarships.

I don't know why we're counting out Thompson already at QB when we haven't even seen him take a snap.

Give the kid a chance.

FWIW, I saw Ryan Williams at the UM gym yesterday and he does NOT look like a college QB.

He looks like that tall pudgy dude that you play pick up basketball with and you only pick him because he can grab rebounds and play D.

Dude needs to hit the weights BIG TIME.
 
Really no point of him doing spring ball. We will have 4 QBs getting reps without him who aren't splitting time with a second sport. No way he gets in any kind of rhythm.

If Thompson dedicates himself to football he's going to shock a lot of you cats. That dude is the best prospect we have behind Morris. He's a REALLY good athlete who could add some different dimensions to the offense.
 
Why can't he just be on a baseball scholie? It's not like he played a single football snap. This is a huge waste.

If that's the case this far into his college career, I'm not that hopeful. I'm pretty bummed that we FINALLY look primed to make a run in 2014.... everywhere but QB. I'd be really curious to see how Thompson stacks up against Williams/Crow/Dewey, though it definitely doesn't look like that's realistic.

Chise knows whats up. I've been a fan of this kid since he got here. I'm telling you, if this kid decides to take football seriously, he is the QB of the future to the dismay of baby jesus followers and dewey fans. David Thompson is forreal.

I don't know who this smart dude 919 is, but he gets it. Thompson is Russell Wilson, but he ain't scared to run.
