David Perry

I'm not hating on the kid, it's just he's been here for an eternity and we haven't gotten anything from him minus practice depth. Practice depth is VERY important but at this point I'd rather have the open scholly for this years recruiting class

There is a rumor going around that David Perry will be leaving the team. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this?

Who?
We have a player named David Perry?

I know who he is.
Just haven't seen him play since we signed him as a 4 star d end out of high school.
Been wondering for a year why a player that is buried so deep on the depth still has a scholarship.

Why rag on good kids? He has never gotten in trouble and has a great attitude.

Not everyone is a star, and you still need scout team and practice players. Rag on keef, rag on quincy, rag on eddie johnson for being an idiot, but dont rag on good kids that are Canes.

For real....folks act like this is an NFL team....no respect to the kids on the team.

Good. I think we are down to 77. Golden is trying to both sign a big *** class and also leave sufficient room for scholie reductions. I'd like to shed 3 more which will take us to 74 and add Derosier (if he exists) and play with 75.

I think we lose about 20 kids next year so were at 55. We can sign 26 and still play at 81 with some EE counting backwards.

lol Who else would u shed.... Al Golden doesnt kick people off the team unless they have committed a crime or failed multiple drug tests. If David Perry is leaving then he made the decision on his own.

He knows he want ever make a depth chart here at Miami.... maybe he can go to FIU and start for the remainder of his football career.

He won't kick them off but he can give them some friendly advice and nudging.

"You know son we love having you here but right now you're a junior and are not in the two deep. This kid Quan looks like he's got your spot on lockdown for 3 years. It's up to you. Coach Riley up in Corvallis knows you're a West Coast kid and he says he's got a place for you in there D that is a better fit schematically for you. It's up to you though son."

And yeah...,,I do want to shed some more. This is a bidness son. We are going to have to deal with a few ships lost for the next 3 years or so, so there is no room for totally unproductive ships. Not every kid has to be a baller but they have to have some sort of utility value to the team if we are gonna play at 82 or 80. If you don't have anything to offer you aren't worth a 50k a year scholie to a private university.

That's just how it is...I'm not attacking kids. This is a bidness.

I want Dewey to go despite coach saying he will return. I'd like to shed a WR that is absolutely buried on the depth chart. We didn't win 5 titles being a charity. If you want a charity, zone, you can go to the Salvation Army, bruh.

The only bad thing for kids who transfer after sitting on the bench for 3 years is that most colleges and universities will only take 60 transfer credits. For example, you can't take 117 credits at Cal State Northridge and then finish the final 3 credits at Stanford for a Stanford degree.
Hope his career works out for him.

Where did you hear that Wells is on the way out? Link? He is our 2nd team guard and we just lost 2 OL this week so out depth is bad.

Offensive lineman out of Illinois that no big ten or big twelve team wanted... Tells me he needs to go

Actually seeing him play would be the better way to access if he belongs here rather than how his recruitment went.IMO

Perry has played TE in goal line situations the last two seasons so it's not like he's been totally useless. He also hasn't been playing football very long having grown up in Jamaica. Considering we're going to lose 7 seniors on the DL after the season I don't think it's a bad thing if he sticks around.
