Dave Clawsen talks about the Miami game

Miami defensive rank by quarters, all games:
Rushing
1st- 38th
2nd-82nd
3rd- 15th
4th- 6th

Passing
1st- 46th
2nd- 80th
3rd- 49th
4th- 37th

The “good” 2nd half stats skew the overall number.
Man, that 2nd quarter, smh.
Feels like if you did the same thing for the offense our 2nd quarter would be our low point as well. We haven’t been able to put teams away early like we should

Feels weird to complain about our offense but yeah Cam missing some normally easy passes to convert 3rd downs and that horrific GT drive definitely messed up our rhythm

Wake Forest defense is really bad. I watched a bit of their game against Clemson and they made Clemson look like the Kurt Warner Rams
Same. I hold out offense to a much higher standard than our defense though. If someone told me we’d hold Georgia Tech to 28, I would have been totally cool with it knowing we were likely to score 40+

There's a reason Clawson was desperate to get out of there & was chasing the UCLA, Nebraska & Arizona State jobs. He caught lightning in a bottle and is crashing down fast

I wonder if it’s just a matter of not being able to consistently attract talent to Winston-Salem. I’m curious how well he’d do at a place where you can actually sign de ent players.

He'd be Dave Doeren 2.0. 8-9 win coach at a comparable program.

He would never be an elite recruiter at any program. He just isn't that personality.

But he's had some very good assistants in his time at Wake including Mike Elko and Warren Ruggiero. Hired well, actually had a decent amount of NFL talent that he's signed and developed, and runs a good program. He has a good book of contacts.

The best caliber of job he would be able to get would be like Kentucky, West Virginia, Pitt, etc. At this point he might just be riding out the rest of his career happy at Wake and not even looking elsewhere.

Wake has a tiny enrollment and a really nice campus. Excellent school but just having D1 programs is punching way above their weight. I honestly don't know how they do it organizationally and financially.

Truth be told if we don’t handle Wake and Cuse we have no business in the playoff.
I’m expecting 30 point win vs Wake

Their tennis team was/is very good. Sean Hannity's kid "played" there and TrumpyCane not sure if he donated or just let the team use his private plane

I was told by a WF grad when I was up there once that they have half the students of Miami and twice the campus.

I appreciate you doing this man!

Just feels like so many times this year we’ve had chances in the 2nd quarter to end games early and we mess it up. Cam goes in these weird modes and maybe the offense struggles a bit to adjustments

Eye opening stuff
