He said we have the #1 defense in the ACC?
You know when they say you can make stats for anything? If you use total stats with all the early cupcake games famu, uf, and such.. technically yea.. But then since conference play we are bottom of barrel.. completely fell off cliff, cant line up, everyone confused, cant bench anybody no matter how many times they **** up, kiko, #7, #0 all gonna play even if they close their eyes

Clawson is a heck of a coach but Wake is super tough to coach and get big time talent. They run an old school operation with players actually redshirting and waiting 2-3 years to play. He was always a dark horse candidate for me here. Give him some big time recruiters and he would win here.

Clawson is a good coach imo

We are easy to dissect so the offense just needs to do its thing

He might be a top 5 ACC coach. Wake Forest is really lucky to have him. He does a lot with little. At one point this season, Wake Forest was FSU bad but they got some solid wins and had a shot at the bowls but the last 2 games really set them back for the season

Man said, I been here at wake 11 years, all the years they were struggling and I am playing miami first time when they are 9-1. Then I play fsu all these years and the year they win 1 ******* game they off the schedule.. :ibis-roflmao-sm3:

I would be thinking the same thing if I was him lol. Everybody in the ACC wants to play FSU this year. Stanford, Wake, NC State are all like **** we could use that easy W over FSU right now. 2022 I'm sure everybody wanted to play our team

Statistically we’re #1 in the ACC in total defense. A lot of it has to do with our non conference games but despite popular belief, we haven’t been giving up tons of yards in conference either. Two teams have gone over 400 yards against us all season. One of them was Duke who had 405. We are 22nd nationally in total defense at 316.6 yards per game but that average goes up to 372 in conference games. We’re somehow 57th in scoring defense. Teams don’t move the ball at will but they seem to be able to score easily.

I’m sure someone will eventually do a deep dive on the numbers and explain how our defense found a way to give up so many points on so little yardage but as of today, I have no idea how we’ve turned this feat.

In typical CIS fashion, we’re describing an opposing coach as though he’s the next Urban Meyer even though he will have back-to-back 4-8 seasons in years 10 and 11 at the same school.

It’s because they’re controlling the clock, GT ran for over 250 on us.

372 nets you a tied 72nd spot with UNLV. That's on par with the scoring and on par with the advanced metrics that we have.

I haven't found a three and out metric, but we do seem to produce them at a fair rate, given that we hover around the 40th spot in drives with at least 10 yards. Also, we ranked 132nd in opponent field goal efficiency, meaning... everyone scores every kick against us out of every angle and distance they physically can, even when they don't drive the ball down the field.

Miami defensive rank by quarters, all games:
Rushing
1st- 38th
2nd-82nd
3rd- 15th
4th- 6th

Passing
1st- 46th
2nd- 80th
3rd- 49th
4th- 37th

The “good” 2nd half stats skew the overall number.
Man, that 2nd quarter, smh.

Dawson has to find an identity and stick with it this game. Worst feel for a game this year with Georgia tech.
Feels weird to complain about our offense but yeah Cam missing some normally easy passes to convert 3rd downs and that horrific GT drive definitely messed up our rhythm

Wake Forest defense is really bad. I watched a bit of their game against Clemson and they made Clemson look like the Kurt Warner Rams
