Confirmed Darrell Jackson hits the portal

It would be foolish to think the portal was only going to take the guys we needed gone and was going to give us what we need without taking value away too.

We had a disastrous season & I am sure the vultures are circling on the talent that we do have and intend to keep.

Losing D. Jackson would be a huge loss no matter what he could be “replaced” with. We’re a 5 win team- we need to stack talent. We’ve seen the gap between us & everyone else on the field. Him & 56 can be a great tandem next year & truth be told we need him to stay. Hope it gets figured out.

Not really , he was a one year rental( assuming he leaves) on a bad team... Mario will find someone else to replace him.... Hopefully it's all BS and he stays but we'll be ok either way... spots will be filled..
Jackson shouldn't be able to get a waiver transferring to FSU from Miami unless he could show a family member seriously ill or other hardship. Just being homesick by itself shouldn't be enough given there is free transfer in place that he already used. He would likely have to show some other family hardship.

However, in these situations, players have hired lawyers to craft their paperwork and represent them.

Miami can and should file an objection and claim tampering of his former coach on FSU's staff

It is unclear how the NCAA will react to granting waivers after the 1-time transfer has been used.

Students who truly have Homesickness become disfunctional in school meaning grades drop and behavior changes. I don't believe this to be the case.

If Jackson wants to leave he should sit out a year. If he is truly homesick, then he can sit out a year of football and get his life in order.

Jackson has 2 more years of eligibility.

He wasn't a one year rental. He's a sophomore and will be a draft eligible junior next year.

So as I said if he leaves he would be a one year rental for us... His eligibility to someone else is irrelevant.

UM should file an objection??....F-that....If the kid wants to leave...get tf out....these are the type of kids that'll hurt a locker room in some fashion.

For a team that is supposedly so devoid of talent, I find it amusing how flippant some people are about potentially losing one of our best players.

I don’t care who we add, this kid leaving would be a huge disappointment.
Yup. And let's not forget, he's unique in that he's likely the only space eater we have on the roster that I'm aware of.

We don't know what his situation is so you can't label him with other players who could be cancers in the lockeroom. If he became one, he would be ******** himself as he could be suspended from the team and then have to transfer losing a year.

Also if he stays, he has to ball out for his NFL future.

He can transfer and sit out. Just because you file an objection doesn't mean you're objecting to him transferring. You're objecting to his immediate eligibility under false pretenses.

I'm not letting him just roll to my rival for immediate eligibility. NO WAY!!!

Fact is that every college coach nowadays needs to recruit his own players to the team each season to avoid going elsewhere for NIL money.
Absolutely.

There are a ton of low level "agent" types that are working your current players with "hey, I can get you 100K, 200K from here, here, and here..." all year long. Nature of the beast and you need to constantly be recruiting your own players back at the end of every year.

Makes it interesting for the future with certain players that sign for NIL. Could leave for the next big pay day or force the pay in Mims case like last year. Will be interesting to see what Okunlola and Rashada do through college.

Seen on 247 a poster said he heard jackson might hit the portal and head to fsu. Lake confirmed he has heard it for about a week and said it’s been characterized to him as home sickness. I guess Mario gone have to recruit him to stay

I hope it doesn’t happen

But at the same time, there are consequences to actions, and royally sucking this year, it doesn’t surprise me that someone like him would consider leaving
