Confirmed Darrell Jackson hits the portal

Weren't people ****ting on Manny for bringing back Jeff Thomas after he went AWOL and how that ruined the culture, and now want to bring this flaky guy back?

DJack didn’t go AWOL. He didn’t quit on his team midseason. He went to be with a sick family member, that family member happens to be in Tallahassee. Take the fsu part out of it….if he did the exact same thing but moved to Tampa and tried to transfer to USF, would y’all have the same feelings? Of course not. Stay out of your feels, from what I understand the kid was respectful on his exit and didn’t trash anyone, didn’t burn any bridges. If that’s not true, I’d enjoy some fact checking.

The staff will make the right decision here. His acceptance won’t be decided by a CIS fan poll. If Mario feels his original exit wasn’t disrespectful or nefarious, he may welcome him back. If he rubbed people the wrong way on the way out the door, then he won’t.

Yeah but he started immediately sniffing around again when the waiver issue started. Remember that whole deal? Like I said why the change when he found out he couldn’t play? Go be with your fam and sit out.
Ehh. At the end of the day my understanding is while she's been sick it's not like she's on deaths bed. If that's truly the facts than your better off getting another solid year in now because if he does than he'll be top 3 rounds next draft. Sitting out can put that in Jeopardy.

Exact same way I see it. If it was as serious as it was made I doubt he’d been back around sniffing when all the waiver issues stuff started. I mean what does sitting out matter if you need to be back with mom.
For real.

Sometimes people lose count of how many second chances people ACTUALLY get
Obviously. I don’t know the whole back story. I just remember hearing that he left to be closer to his mom.

Wasn’t he using the sick mother reason? Maybe if it wasn’t a lie the locker room knew that

I hate to sound like a **** here because genuinely if his mother is ill I wish the best.

But, Fields got a friggin waiver because somebody called him the N word. As incompetent as the NCAA is, an ill parent seems like a slam dunk to get a waiver. I hope I’m wrong, but it doesn’t smell right.

I don’t believe you!

I remember Him sending out some cryptic tweets right before He decided to leave. If you're going to leave, then just leave, no need for the melodramatic.

So all d jax needs to do is find someone in Tallahassee who uses the n word?

People need to settle down on this.

Fields waiver came BEFORE the "one-free-transfer" rules change.

Jackson is asking for a waiver AFTER the rule change and AFTER he has already transferred twice.

There is a difference.

And waivers are a LOT harder to come by now.

While I agree with with what you’re saying… if your mom is ill why be so concerned with whether or not you get to be on the field this season? You’re still on scholarship… get to be in school. NIL and all the perks. No problem right?

Either you need to be near your mom and football isn’t as important as her and she’s so important you’d sacrifice playing a year to be close to her which ANY reasonable person would except orrrrr…

You only need to be close to your sick mom if you can play football immediately too and if you can’t play football immediately you’re willing to go back where previously playing because…. Of what?

If they are much harder to come by now then I am happy and agree with that.

Because you wanted to be near your sick mom while playing football, with the ultimate goal to be able to play professionally in order to help your mom significantly, long-term. It was the best of both worlds for your situation. Progress towards your career, while being close to a relative in need.

Then you find out you can't play football near your sick mom, you can only play football 7 hours away from her, or you can't play at all. So you make the decision to sacrifice the next 4 months away from her in hopes of setting her up financially for life, which will pay for any excessive medical care she may require.

All good, sir. Not mad at all, just commenting on how hard it is to make multi-year comparatives after this flurry of rules changes, NIL, conference realignment, etc.

Yep. Go watch him in the FSU debacle (if you have the heart for it), he was getting washed against the run all game long.
They negated him by down blocking him with a double team and pulling the back side guard and tackle. Nothing you can do as a DT but try n hold your ground and hope the DE can take on the pulling guard and LBs scrape and fill (ours sucked at it). Teams rarely ran straight at us
