Good looking prospect. I'm not worried about his lean because it's mainly after he hits top gear in the open field (hilarious follow up posts though). Anyway, this is the type of kid that Va Tech would sign and would give us fits. Pete what say you? Any scoop on this kid?

I think Collins is good but I don't get all the talk like he's some god. I would've loved to have him and I like his running style but he's not Adrian Peterson, some are jumping the gun with his legend status.

Who is Adrian Peterson? Collins is a beast and would do great at UM. A lot of carries are up for grab next year with Mike James graduating (maybe that is a good thing) and Duke cannot handle it all. Why Collins is not Adrian Peterson, he doesn't have to be. If he goes to Wisconsin (they never have success with running backs) or FSU you will hear his name again. Collins is a local kid who is a tremendous talent. We need a RB or 2.

Yep. FSU is the place where he will disappear, but if he comes back to Miami or goes to Wisconsin he will be a nationally recognized talent.

LOL Pete was right...this kid does run with his back arched backwards. Can't say I've ever seen anything like it. All they gotta do to fix it is just don't let him touch a football and have him run on a track and anytime his back goes backwards, beat him.

With that said, he looks like a nice physical back. I like his tape a lot. Looks like he has decent enough hands and cuts well on the field. Oh and he got dreads...you know I love backs with dreads.

+1. Alex Collins is nice but, if he's as good as advertised her on CI.co, then he'd be a consensus top 3 back across the board.

There are plenty of guys who get "overlooked" and drop in their position rankings. If he stays healthy and goes to a school like Wiscy, get back to me when he runs for 1500 yards and is an NFL first rounder.

I watched this guy against Columbus. Fumbled twice because of the way he runs but he does have great strength and tenacity. Very vicious runner but runs in front of his pads instead of behind.

Yeah I will, and I will tell you that I said he's good. But it's not like we can't accomplish his stats with another player That's all I'm saying.

EVERYTHING around him is terrible. His OL is hot garbage. He is the only bright spot on that team. He see's 8 in the box on EVERY play.

I love Tice, and I think that Chestnut, as a (very) poor man´s Duke, would be worthy of a scholly if everyone else falls thru (including Tarean Folston, who is way better). But there is no denying that Collins is the clear-cut No. 1 RB out there this year and just the type we need for our offense.

Alex collins was very low key during the preseason evualation period, combined with being a um commit which causes a bias in evaulations. Hence why he was only selected for marine all.american game, when lessor backs were picked for AAA and UAAA games. But since his decommitment from UM his recruitment has exploded. So lets see what happens.
