I don't blame him. You grab the money. But it's quickly becoming an untenable situation. The NCAA is likely to step in an institute caps.Good for him he’s getting paid can’t hate the playa hate the game

Brock Purdy is making $985K this season.
This **** is absurdly retarded.
This is what everyone wanted, but was too stupid to see coming. No professional sport has a “free market.” They have salary caps. This is on everyone involved not being smart enough to get a revenue sharing deal done years ago that would give each school an allotted amount of cash to spread around a roster.

They have to do something.. And remember the ADs and university presidents are tight with politicians.Caps?
Good luck with this idea.
Is he buying the entire state? WtfAnd Jeff Besos is about to spend $600mm on his secret Aspen wedding…
Yeah, I'd been wondering why he jumped onboard with Duke that fast instead of seeing what bigger programs offered. If that amount is true, it's insaneNow we know why he committed so fast.
I bet his agent told him to sign that contract before they could even think about reconsidering.
The university names aren't much more than sponsorship names now. Really not much to do with school anymoreCollege sports were always known as “Amateur Athletics,” as opposed to professional.
College football, as we knew it, is dead and gone.
It was sarcasm. There was a story claiming that. It was about as legit as this one. No one is paying that kid $4mm a year.Is he buying the entire state? Wtf
That’s what I’m saying. All it would’ve taken is a rev sharing CBA between players and the NCAA. Would’ve solved everything. It is true that professional sports in this country employ some sort of salary cap structure, but even then some franchises are more equal than others.
Personally, I'm glad the athletes have more freedom to move and are getting opportunities to make a little money off their name but it is also ruining college football at the same time. It is turning the sport into 7v7 basketball garbage.
But so it is in high school as well.
People keep saying this, it was ALWAYS like this. The only difference is that the talent was drastically underpaid and coaches, administrators and everyone else was able to benefit from the players not being able to participate in the free market.College sports were always known as “Amateur Athletics,” as opposed to professional.
College football, as we knew it, is dead and gone.
That would require players to be allowed to collectively bargain. This is what everyone wanted, but was too stupid to see coming. No professional sport has a “free market.” They have salary caps.
