Dan Mullen for OC.

If we blowing money make head offensive analyst.
Playcalling and game planning the man is A1. I don't want him recruiting my QBs tho.

One great season? You mean one historic season right? Where he got his QB drafted as the #1 pick and two of the the WRs went 1st round. (Jefferson, Chase). None of those 3 were on anyones 1st round radar the year prior.
Great, historic, legendary, transcendent I don't give a ****. It's still only ONE season versus a proven QB developer with 15+ years of productive offenses.

Also, look at what those same LSU players are doing in the league.
Burrow - one of the better QB's in the NFL. Has the Bengals at 7-5 on the year.
Chase - having a good rookie season. Would be even better if he held onto the ball more.
Jefferson - Stud. Pro bowler.
Edwards Helaire - Starting RB for the Kansas City.

Stop acting like he elevated average players.

Give me the proven commodity.

Terrible head coach and recruiter. Incredible Offensive mind.

Mario can cover his warts. He can put 40 points a game.

I'll read all of your hateful responses and do my best to get back to all of you.
been saying this for weeks lol. lets see if he rather take a G5 job or come here

Listen to Bruce Feldman on Ryen Russillo's podcast (starts around 38:20). Talks about Mullen creating a culture of "excuses" - set a really awful standard for his players by always passing blame and making excuses. He interviewed a handful of other SEC assistant coaches and they all had a stance that Mullen was regressing UF substantially, even more so than the coaches you mentioned.

"When it comes to what you get from Mullen.... it's an interesting comment from another SEC coach - 'watch what happens when they lose; he makes excuses left and right.'"

You don't have to worry about that. Mario will set the tone and hold the team, and coaches, accountable. Culture starts at the top, not the OC position.

I think weird Dan is one of the best game day play callers in modern CFB, but I’d prefer the whole package in an OC.

Still, if we got him, we would score 40+ most games.

It's an interesting thought process. He'd be a 1 year rental most likely, although that 1 year is essentially guaranteed to be a success with his track record and the pieces we have in place right now. He's a weirdo though and his recent QB evaluations/decision making (Frenks over Trask) is a concern.

I wouldn't hate it.
No decision to make here. TVD is the man heading into next season.

If Mario can out together a staff of recruiters to bring him what he needs I'm good. Oh, keep his creepy *** wife away from the team.

We dont have to go back and forth. Ill just end this argument by saying when your former boss and HC says negative **** about you, thats all I needed to hear. If Urban doesnt fancy him, then why should we? We are trying to fix our culture not add a clown to it. I dont care how great his resume is. Why not just bring Zach Smith and Trooper Taylor onboard to be our ace recruiters while your at it since we dont care about culture and all. Never heard anyone say a bad thing about Joe Brady. That counts for something in my book. But I digress.

This thread has gone on too long. Mullen isnt coming here even though he would love the chance. And we all know it.

Meme Reaction GIF

this is probably the perfect response. There are valid reasons for a 'Yes' or a 'No' for Mullen as OC.

Mullen also wanted to be here twice before, and it would solve those offensive hang ups we might have with Mario.

And that's why he's not head coach material. Mario will create a culture of accountability. We just need Mullen in the booth calling plays.

His offense doesn’t fit here. Unless we’re going to start running TVD 10 times a game. Hopefully Mario hires more of an air raid guy.
