Dan Hawkins

Dan Hawkins > jon richt.

Besides keeping an eye on any under the radar recruits butch gets at fiu we can steal on signing day, the same should be true for any staff he hires. Great eye for both. He can be our farm system contact.

To borrow a quote from The Wedding Singer: "I'm not in love with Robbie, now. I'm in love with Robbie, six years ago."

The Dan Hawkins who coached Boise State in 2005 might have been better than Jon Richt. Butch is getting the Dan Hawkins who failed miserably at Colorado before getting fired after five games with the Montreal Alouettes before getting fired from broadcasting.

If Dan Hawkins was some kind of major coup, we wouldn't have to scroll back 11 years to find his last coaching success. He would have been, you know, coaching somewhere.

Not a very bright post as usual.

As an assistant coach, yes, Dan Hawkins > Jon richt given all the success he's had in his past and working as a head man multiple times. You're talking about him only in context as a head coach. I, however, am talking about him as an excellent coach to have for butchs staff and compared him to a guy on our staff (with a kind of similar position on offense) who had basically zero assistant experience to being hired.

Fiu getting a guy like Hawkins as an assistant coach is a steal. Particularly with his experience helping a small program rise.

If he is an excellent coach, why wasn't he coaching? There are 250 FBS and FCS football programs. If he would take an assistant's job at FIU, he would take a job anywhere. Why wasn't he coaching?

After the Bielema thing, one would think that you would get out of the coach-evaluation business.

Having another former HC on the staph is a brilliant move by Butch Davis the God.

Hawkins is recharged similarly to where Butch Davis the God is.

These guys are going to wreck shop in CUSA. People act like he just took a job in the SEC. LMFAO

If you don't know that Butch Davis the God is going to spew ***** all over the rest of that putrid conference is a dan fool.

Obvious schtick is obvious.

I've been a vocal Butch Davis the God supporter on this site long before you even heard of this place youngin'.

No need for schtick when everyone knows I'm 100% genuine on this particular topic.

I understand kid. Your panties are rustled. You don't like it that Butch Davis is back in SoFla about to cornhole the CUSA.

Don't worry. He's not in a power 5 conference. He isn't a threat to us.

Didn't Bubbles Hawkins last 5 or 6 games at his last coaching gig before getting run out of town? If he makes it 8 games at FIU it'll be a success story.

Larry Coker must have turned him down.

Five games with Montreal of the Canadian Football League. Wish I was making that up, because it sure sounds like a satire post.

Dan Hawkins previous experience coaching in Europe, especially Austria, makes him uniquely qualified to coach in this market. Here are a couple of pics of his time in training those Alpine savages.

He was fired when the team management and the players lost their trust in him.
