Ohio State hosted Venice (Fla.) High 247Sports Composite five-star edge rusher
Damon Wilson for his official visit over the weekend, a return trip to Columbus for the coveted Sunshine State target.
“Oh man, it was first class, it was a great weekend,” Wilson’s father Damon said. The trip included the Buckeyes season-opening win over Notre Dame in primetime.
“Unbelievable atmosphere. We had a really good time. Even with all the stuff that we did, the biggest takeaway for me and my family was Coach (Larry) Johnson. You’re probably sitting with The Godfather of defensive ends and so just any time you get to be with him is just a blessing. We had some time to spend with him 1-on-1 and break some bread both in the meeting room and dinner, being able for little Damon to talk to him and break down his film and show him some things he can do better and does well. That was a really, really good experience on top of the other great things that were happening.
The Wilson family’s visit included watching the team practice on Sunday and the victory dinner.
“Everything we did was first class," the elder Wilson stated. "We had an unbelievable time.”
Wilson took an official visit to Alabama in the summer. He also took unofficial trips to Miami and Georgia. He remains in steady contact with all of those programs as well. Nothing is scheduled moving forward as Wilson locks into his senior season
