It's obvious we need to turn to the youth/home grown at most defensive positions except DB. And there it looks like we are getting Lucas from Wisconsin, and OJ will have a spot and we already got Poyser. Need a couple more still there, because I'm not trusting the youth at DB for next season.Okay. I'll take this as an answer towards my question and ask you if you understand how practice works? Obviously you understand the limited reps we give out in game. Well In Practice reps are virtually just as limited. 1st stringers anxiously get a LARGE majority(not saying this like ur slow or something brother. Just spelling out the obvious.) second stringers get virtually all remaining reps and dependent on the weeks, 3rd and fourth string may get none at all. Honestly as a young jit on the squad you're far better off getting on the scout team. Only issue with that is the reps you get are in the scheme of the various opponents we face throughout the season. But they are against 1s and 2s opposed to getting single digit reps at best as 3rd teamers & no reps at all as 4th teamers. That's every team in the country. The only action EVERYONE gets is drills and that's only really during camp. Is there any need to mention most development comes from game action as theirs no substitute for live play. Meaningful burn. Well you see how we handle that.
Now getting into the positions let's see if you're gonna walk this back or at least say maybe try and be realistic. I don't even remember all the positions you stated but I'll try to remember. You definitely said QB this is now Mario's 3rd full year. 2 years of Tyler and one of cam. Tyler we were strong armed by and made a horrible decision of believing he'd cut it. Stepped str8 from him to the all American and top 5 pick in the draft in cam who came here as anywhere from a second to 4th rounder....

S well pretty sure you can't develop the young guys when you have an all American(you were developing himself and a 2 time all ACC s and another one who refused a position switch till the last possible second and injuries forced him back.
Wr not even gonna justify that one cause I guess we should've sat any of the top 4 who seem to have been developed pretty **** well.
This is the larger problem I been talking on for 2 years now while y'all steady scream about who we gotta go after in the portal. What we're doing by going out constantly to fill the roster through the portal is we're essentially giving up on the recruits we bring in at those positions. Because again there's only one ball and one snap at a time for an entire room...

Correct as to the NIL contract, which does not involve playing per the letter of the contract. I reviewed my nephew’s contract with UM basketball and even if he does not earn any minutes, he gets paid so long as he satisfies the NIL requirements; which include social media postings, personal appearances, etc..
But assuming Wilson signed a financial aid agreement/scholarship agreement, that is for his being on the Oregon football team.
My point conflated the 2 issues. I used NIL without being precise. I had some sympathy for players getting out of their financial aid in the pre-NIL world. But now as they are making lots and lots of money, I would not relent to a player if the financial aid agreement is enforceable. And if that sounds harsh, it is meant to be. With money comes responsibilities. Wilson could have made this same decision a few weeks ago and no one bats an eye. But Oregon probably said no to another deserving high school player because of Wilson.
I was a 3rd stringer. I'm very aware of how practice works. My issue with reps and rotations is long winded. For starters the normal ascension that we grew up with and had in college no longer exists. It used to be Freshmen year was the adjustment period. The freaks played early. Sophmore year was when players got their feet wet and by Junior and Senior year those players were starters. Now player grooming is virtually dead. The portal has accelerated that and guys aren't waiting around.Okay. I'll take this as an answer towards my question and ask you if you understand how practice works? For the young guys the spring and fall practice. Once the season starts the focus is on who the coaches have deemed to be the best at their respective positions.Without getting into a response deemed emotional, I'll just ask where do you feel the most development occurs? Games, practice, what? When?
i think a lot of people dont get that the NLI is gone but the new document is the same thing just without the deadlines the NLI had (3 days to return). its still a binding agreement that you need to be released from and you cant sign 100 of them.Absolutely true. And for a highly-ranked player like Dallas, they probably signed the Financial Aid form and the NIL deal around the same time. Most of the high school NIL deals provide a large "signing bonus" or "enrollment" payment up-front, so he may already have a lot of cash from the NIL deal PLUS the signing of the Financial Aid form, so it's actually TWO contracts from which he would need a release. Although it's probably pretty easy to get out of the NIL deal via non-compliance, but still.
We are no longer in the days of Coach Squeak coming by the house to get your signature on an LOI. These are real-life contracts with real-life clauses, from both a monetary and eligibility standpoint (i.e., the new "if you sign the Financial Aid form, you can't go back in the Portal" clause).
You are arguing with the King of the Mopes who doesn't contribute a penny to the program and doesn't go to games. Don't feed the troll.Okay. Need a Grown man at DT in portal either now (Blay from LaTech) or in Spring for insurance purposes. I'd also say 1 EDGE in Spring as well if/when Mesidor leaves. But otherwise we rotate DL a lot and the youth need to step up in a big way.
On offense we gotta go with the youth/home grown at RB, TE, and Most Oline spots. I could see 1 portal Olineman as a starter, the rest of those groupings, I can see mostly only adding as depth/rotation piece (like blocking TE) being added.
WR is most important and we also got to let the youth get way more reps, but we absolutely need another portal WR to pair with Daniels with Horton leaving. To me Singleton/Concepcion will be Restrepo "replacement", Daniels will be George replacement, and Jojo/Carr and whoever else step up will fill in the remaining roles. Then we can re-evaluate after spring too.
QB is also obviously the biggest decision. I'd go Robertson then Mendoza then probably bringing in someone like Veltcamp/Vasko to just compete with Emory/Nickel. But I wouldn't want Ewers at all right now.
Not buying Ray Ray or Kirk. We get to see soon enough with Trader, Carr, Ray Ray needing to play in the bowl. Not trying to creat a controversy here. But why do we absolutely need another WR? I want one, don’t get me wrong. But those 6 kids we signed up in 24 and 25 classes plus Ray Ray and Kirk all seem pretty good to me too.
Then explain Elko at Duke and Cignetti at Indiana who took over programs in worse shape than Miami and had success right away.
It's ok to admit Mario is a bad football coach who's strength used to be recruiting. It's clear now that isn't the case and he'll struggle to find bigtime success at Miami
You are arguing with the King of the Mopes who doesn't contribute a penny to the program and doesn't go to games. Don't feed the troll.
Lmao, the **** are you talking about? Did he make the playoff his first year at Indiana or not? Something your hero Mario has has never done.Tell me more about Indiana. You seemed to dismiss it before. He failed to do what NIU did.

Would 100% take any of those three over man ****, not even debatableHe made the playoffs off some weak **** schedule and beating 1 team over .500, 7th place Michigan. His noncon was FIU, Charlotte, and Western Illinois. But yeah, after 1 year of a 12 team playoff, Mario hasn't done it. Seriously? Lets ignore the fact that Mario makes a 12 team playoff in Year 2 at Oregon. Go suck off Sonny Dykes while you're at it...he's done something Elko, Mario, and Cignetti failed to do. Willing to bet you wouldn't pick him as your HC if you lined up all 4 of em.
I think it’s fair to say we have more pressing needs elsewhere like on defense, at DT, CB… Seems that we’re starting to get some help there. Not trying to creat a controversy here. But why do we absolutely need another WR? I want one, don’t get me wrong. But those 6 kids we signed up in 24 and 25 classes plus Ray Ray and Kirk all seem pretty good to me too.
