Should he move to Safety next season?

Gonna have Duke,Gus,Yearby,Powell, and hopefully Cook. Safety depth gonna be a major problem and Crawford was originally on defense. We saw Clements make multiple position switches to help the team. I think this makes sense. Crawford has run tough but i'd say all those guys are more talented runners.

I suggested this weeks ago. He is a playmaker. I think it would be a great move.http://www.canesinsight.com/threads/59021-Safety-Recruiting?p=1676204#post1676204

Safety isn't happening.

I do believe, however, that he should move to slot receiver. That's his best position. He has played it some during spring and he looks great there. Cat-quick with excellent hands and instincts. He has the toughness to play inside.

Love what he's done for us this year but Golden will hopefully recruit better backs. And Crawford deserves to stay on the field in some capacity.

he has been practicing on offense for 3 years now. moving him will waste all of next year.

He changed positions for a reason in the first place, during a time when we had issues in the secondary......

nope, keep at RB. We need a veteran back behind Duke. I like Gus, but not sure he is ready by next season. If Yearby is a beast in spring practices, then that may change things. but until we know that. Runningback

Respect your opinion if you don't think he could help secondary but slot...seems like we have plenty guys for that spot. Counting this incoming class. He's got no breakaway speed at running back that's for sure. Really good as a goal line back. Probably our best. Dukes good at goal line but takes some real shots.

I've move Gunter to Safety. He is big enough for the position at 6'3 and can tackle. Have Jenkins on the other side of him and bush and carter as backups. Burns and howard starting at Corner with crawford and elder as backup.

The only guy I would call a true slot is Berrios, and he's not here yet.

Crawford is tough, very quick, has great hands and has a feel for the game-- all ideal traits for a slot receiver. His lack of height and speed doesn't hurt him in there because he is so quick.

Random addition to a Dallas thread, how great is he at finishing plays by hustling down field til the whistle? Go back and watch 25 on Coley's td run yesterday, love that effort.

IMO Dallas has proven he is a football player and can do many things to aid his team in winning, wherever he plays, he will do the job.

Love Dallas and he's been huge this year for us. Unless someone clearly beats him out and shows out enough to be as dependable as a #2/ spell guy, I wouldn't touch him. He's a proven commodity at this point and you don't just scoff at those.

To expand on D's opinion, though, if someone steps up to be a strong #3 and pushes Dallas for that #2 spot, I really like the idea of getting him on the field in the slot. Again, he's proven to be a valuable player and runs with solid vision and wiggle. He stays on offense but with added depth you can afford to be a little more creative with im

Dallas is not a RB for a division 1 team I meaa look at his stats..averaging 4 yards a carry doesn't cut it in college. He is just two slow and being 5'8 weighing 190 you better be fast

I might buy that but if he is such a good fit as you seem to think he might be in the slot I am ****ed that he wasn't there some this year. We stunk on 3rd down. Shoulda at least had 3-4 plays a game for him in the slot. He only had 17 catches on the season. Eh.... Morris I blame for a lot of that but I would question why Coley didn't use him better. Going into the season I really thought Duke and Dallas would kill teams on 3rd down with short passes. Anyways I agree he brings a lot of positives to the field wherever he plays and we need that.

I guess if he lost a few pounds I was kinda thinking he could be like honey badger type player. He is so quick and elusive I would love to see him blitzing.

He showed some good hands snagging a pass that was behind him yesterday, would be a good blocker as well.

I think Malcolm Lewis will be way better next year and would be a food slot guy to pick up 3rd downs.
