Pringle on kickoff and we've been so ******* boring on punt return for 5 years that I don't care if we have 0.0 return yards for the season, just catch the ball every single time and I'm happy. I just have to believe the punt return thing is a trust issue so pick the kids you know are going to catch it and be done.

But I'm hoping this year there is enough confidence in someone to just say "Go house this one"

My bar is set really low right now on punt return. But for ***** sake, at least fair catch the ******* ball and stop allowing it bounce in the field of play and set us back an additional 15-20 yards.

This year I agree, last year I was cool with it. We were scoring anyway and those extra 15-20 yards add up over time and made Cam have more yards only thing stopping Cam would have been a muffed fair catch or our defense.

A guy who runs really fast, has good vision, quick feet, great hands, and doesn't go down with first contact. We haven't had one of those as a returner in a long time.

It’s my understanding that if you are elite at fair catches you get the job. If you cannot extend a proper arm wave you can’t perform this duty. Also if you are dynamic you will not be allowed to PR.

If his explosiveness translates to cfb and doesn't look slow at this level he will be a good one. But you always need to see how they look when others around them are as fast and athletic. If it stands out at this level he will be a problem. If it doesn't look as twitchy with these athletes around you its never a good sign imo.

Yeah, I almost mentioned the same thing. And these aren’t even 20 yard kicks with 30 yards of roll. They’re just sort of low 35-40 yarders. Where the **** are you, sir?? Come up and field the football.

Respectfully disagree. I am not cool at all with the lack of effort and execution by our punt returner. You may be right that it didn’t seem to hurt us as bad this last year as our offense was elite. Still not a valid reason why there was 0 effort by our punt returner to field the ball.

I would still rather start at our own 40-45 as opposed to our own 15-20 yard line. Ray Ray was costing us 20+ yards every time he refused to fair catch the ball. And as @OrangeBowlMagic pointed out earlier, it’s not like these punts were 20 yard line drives. Majority of them were normal punts with adequate hang time for him to get under and catch the ball, whether it be a fair catch or a catch with minimal return. He simply didn’t do either of those things.
