DAILY DEBATE: Who needs to play more in the second half of the season?

I noticed our LBs kept getting caught up inside. Malik Bryant is at a position where he is fighting for snaps. Wouldn’t mind trying him out at off-ball LB.

He’s better as a rusher end. It’s his mos natural position

Im not saying i disagree cause i liked Zaquan out of highschool but what did he show for everyone to be clamoring for him now? Or is it just we’re tired of our current safeties already lol

My answer is Popo by far.

I'm not as down on Sam Brown as some. He hasn't been WR1. Or 2. Maybe not even 3 lol

But he's been serviceable, seems to relish blocking, and I wouldn't say he's stinking up the joint.

Unless any of these Freshmen playing behind him are torching DB's and getting full separation 5 yards out, his reps shouldn't drop.

Looks like a different athlete back there than other safeties, has shown a willingness to tackle and be in right spots when he has been in this year. To add to that Harris has been pretty terrible and undisciplined with his eyes

Zaquan. We need a tackling presence at safety.

Or move Richard back because he's too stiff to play CB.

Feels like snaps were very limited the last two games, hence the milk carton status of Ajay Allen and Chase Smith. On offense they absolutely need to find more touches for Lofton and CJ. On defense, I am not sure anyone on the bench can help. That's are problem, we are more talented in all spots on the offensive side of the ball. Defense still needs upgrades everywhere but DE. Hopefully the bye week allows some kids the opportunity to get minutes so the coaches can properly evaluate them. Thinking safety, LB, and DT.

i'm off the chris johnson train ... i've never been a fan of having to force feed a guy per se vs. his natural talent shining through ... plus i'm a disappointed in his wiggle ... one on one with a cal guy, you gotta make him miss

I hate to turn this around - but my contrary nature compels me to ask,

"WHO needs to play more in the first three quarters going forward?"

This wait-until-the-fourth quarter nut checking BS is causing me elevated moments of discomfort due to my body dumping adrenaline and at least another hundred chemicals and hormones into my blood stream normally used to get past the near-panic emergency of the moment.

And when the clock runs out - and these things evaporate - the crash is crushing.

I think we've already seen most of the performers for the fourth quarters - but why aren't THEY playing the first three quarters so that we don't require these fourth quarter heroics?

I think a major part of it is the poor play by the current safety’s and I also do think he’d be better just off his high school film… I know people will say it’s a huge jump from high school to college, but it doesn’t get much worse from 2 starting P4 safety’s than that showing in Cal

Outside of short yardage downs, only Fletcher or Allen should be on the field at RB. Allen is talented, experienced, and has burst. He should be getting 5-10 touches a game.

This offense cant have someone serviceable imo. We’re running on high octane and need ballers out there.
