The answer is Mahomes. No reason to try to find anyone else. It’s always been Mahomes.
I get people mentioning Rodgers but his arm talent is 1 of 1 imo (I always felt Jordan Love was more of a Rodgers-lite when he was at Utah State, ironically). Cam has a tremendous arm but not at the same level (the way Rodgers can 3/4 sling one drifting backwards while still creating ridiculous velocity breaks my brain), and I felt the same way about Mahomes coming out. What Cam and Rodgers (and Mahomes) do share is that I very rarely feel like they’re sped up above the speed they want to play at.
That’s where the Baker comp loses me, Baker is a lot like Manziel imo in that they thrive in chaos, but it IS chaotic. Same thing with Caleb Williams, though I would like to see him with some semblance of a decent offensive line.
Kyler has some similarities in the twitch he has in the quick passing game while not needing much of a wind up or getting his legs into it, but running is such a big part of his game I can’t see that one.
Anyway. Long-winded way of saying I think a lot of these guys have similarities that I understand why the comps come up, but overall the most complete comp is Mahomes imo. Not saying he’s going to be at that level. But it is why I felt like he should’ve been a top 10 pick last year and will forever be grateful for east coast bias as well as people not being able to separate wins/include surrounding talent in QB evals.
