It's not about the Coastal
Well we gotta win the Coastal to be first in the ACC don't we? If we win the ACC, a national seed is guaranteed. We finish with Notre Dame, so we'll have the change to decide the conference on that final weekend if necessary, but our biggest threats for the conference crown are likely in our division in UVA/VT, so staying ahead of those two is vital.

Warren Nolan predicted RPI now shows us dropping to #16 with a 1-2 weekend, so that would not be great.

Strength of schedule I am assuming. Big East is crappy baseball.
Fair enough, but you’d like to think 45 wins would be enough to get you a 2 seed somewhere, if not a 3 seed nearer their “region.”

As long as I’m on that subject - in the era where certain teams are chartering flights, what’s the point of having “regionals?” It’s not like travel is an issue, even for the smallest most cash-strapped schools. Just rank them 1-64.
