D$ with insight on practices and scrimmage, including big plays from Jacurri and Colby Young

He’s had a tough spring.

He got an opportunity to get 1st snaps and let the opportunity slip away. I locked in on him a bit when I was there and he was struggling with his technique too often. He was an athlete first, so I think a longer transition to DB should’ve been expected.

I’m mentally preparing myself for the same thing to happen to Stafford when he shows up.

To be blunt, corner coaching at Miami sucks. It’s sucked since the Crime Dog left.
Cb as a unit currently is as bad as I can remember. Maybe the Golden Years.

Rumph was actually a decent coach the guys at least performed under him

Rumph coached them just fine. He had Corn Elder, Adrian Colbert, Mike Jackson, Malik Young, etc. all balling. The should just move him back on-field that way they're at least being coached. We're still not recruiting.

Recruiting combined with coaching - he did suck though because his recruiting was so bad. Still hasn't changed though so probably wasn't even him
Wasn't addae supposed to be a really good recruiter at Georgia?

That's what a lot of people seem to miss. Even in our darkest years (last year being perhaps the worst talent wise), we've had talent on the team. But the roster is so thin with talent and full of holes that we never get the most out of those guys. To win consistently and confidently, you need to have 22 quality players (+K and P), with another 22 as 1a guys who rotate in or can take a starting role if someone goes down.

The other 40 or so kids are your first and second years who aren't ready to take meaningful snaps but are high potential and still developing. Most should be getting significant minutes on STs as well as subbing in.

We shouldn't have more than 10 projects on roster at any time, and certainly shouldn't keep JAGs on roster once we see guys missing their development and performance targets.

^^^ this takes 3-4 years to set up. The portal can get us there more quickly if the right kids enter and we can grab them. But that's far from a guarantee. Regardless of whether it's 2 or 4 years, I personally believe Mario WILL get us there.
I lean to he will get us there if the fans stfu and give him time. If anyone is going to get us there it's him not the next HC after him. Cause it won't be a good hire afterward imo. 2 stars a year ain't making a difference anywhere if u want to compete with the big boys. Than u have to factor in busts cause that's going to happen, hopefully the evals are on point

UGA recruits itself, same with Bama
Don't get it twisted UGa and Bama work their *** off on the trail. I mean obviously they bag but u can't relax on the trail even if u winning. Once u relax you start losing than they say u can't HC anymore than u retire. Got to get the best and that takes a lot of work off the field. But I get what u mean

I agree that time has proven that it wasn’t all Rumph’s fault regarding recruiting kids at that spot.

As far as on field performance is concerned, his guys had a hard time pressing properly and turning to find the ball. Two critical components of DB play.

That being said, his guys where always in-phase and in position if they didn’t miss the jam.

These guys now can’t do any of it.

With the way they're teaching WRs to not put their hands up till the last second, most DBs have a hard time finding the ball. H e l l, some WRs are taught to not even reach for the ball, Antonio Brown was a master at it.
