Bradys got that moss hand down
the thing that gets me with Dowels is that he is Knock Knee'd. Hopefully i dont sound ignorant with that.lol But its always something that bothered me when i watched his film. Which leaves him with avery funny running gait and his speed is in question. At a small stature at cb...you better have the speed and agility. At the high school level and facing alot of attempts with another talented cb a smart guy with ball skills can make plays like Dowels did this year.
When projecting to the next level and new scheme facing an up in talent and size will he perform?. Jayron Hosley showed up in VT's scheme, Captain Munnerlyn @ sc...looking at our db class before the departures i dont think i would take him over Nigel Bethel, and Turner was an obvious force out beginning in the summer.
Despite those supposed "better' offers(tx a&m,Clemson).....save Oklahoma im not impressed with those schools evals or defensive pedigree especially when sometimes these schools get in just want to get some sort of footing in south florida.
The local kid i like at db's without offer are Nichols @ Central and Jo Jo Robinson actually playing a cb spot.
With Jo Jo hes a plus athelte with speed who just needs redshirt year to learn and craft at that cb spot. Nichols is just steady man, has started at central and gone against any and every body to come through dade and held his own.
Durante beat Dowels deep, but it was because Dowels bit on a double-move. Durante didn't just outrun him.
Dowels doesn't look to me like a 4.4 guy but he has agility for days. I picked Dowels over Bethel mainly because he has better feet. Bethel gets turned around too much. He has some of that straight-line sprinter style, whereas Dowels moves like a corner all the way.
You must take into account a lot of off the radar players got their offers by coming to Goldens camp and earning them. Did London, Dowels and Nichols attend the camp?
I just dont see it with Brady at all. I would take Chris Taylor over Brady
Does Miami have any interest in Dowels?

Well ****, even a CB that runs a 4.2 can get beat on a double-move. But he's never been out-run vertically. People have tried. Miami Jackson tried a couple times with Durante. Dowels ran Durante's route for him and caught the ball like HE was the receiver.
He's been timed at 4.49, handheld of course, which is about right. He's a "legit" 4.5 guy all day.
If you ask just about ANY receiver in the 7-on-7 circuit who the best CB in Broward is, or even South Florida, they'll tell you Dowels. Rushing will tell you. McKenzie will tell you. ****, even Lane would probably tell you. He's the only CB he couldn't abuse.

While I admire you sticking up for your boy and lord knows you make a GREAT case for this cat. I just cant see us taking a kid who is 5'9 and MAYBE runs a 4.5 on his best day. Phillip B was 5'8 but was fast as ****, was athletic as ****, and crazy hips. AND was versatile.
I agree that we should at least put in a phone call to this guy in case JC decides to go to Tally. (Which I think he will.) But his size and lack of top end speed has me worried. You just dont see many corners around that are 5'8-5'9 but dont have elite speed and be shutdown corners.
You don't finish your high school career with **** near 20 interceptions just cause you're smart. LOL
