Battle was told he was not fast enough

Who is the FL recruiting coordinator for Miami? I know Carroll is national, but who does FL?

They don't have that role that I know of. The label "recruiting coordinator" doesn't really mean much honestly.

D'Onofrio was the one telling Battle he lacked speed.

Man, I know Green and Gaines weren't Golden's recruits but LOL at Battle being slower than either of them.

I won't mention ineptitude on any ones behalf because freedom of speech on an open site is not permitted, but Battle plays defense. Its safe to say LSU's assessment of defensive talent is probably a little more sound than you know who. So like ya'll I'm wondering why in the **** aren't we recruiting all the best defensive talent in SoFl !!!!!!! Regardless of position on defense we need the best players. We need to get them when we can and fill in the gaps when we can.

What's the deal with Kendrell McFadden and the Canes? He's an old school Cane type safety. How is he already committed to West Virginia? We seem not to like tough physical nasty type secondary players. We gotta stack our team with studs and keep them home.

Would love to see the look on the face of the LSU coach when Battle told them that Miami isn't recruiting him cause he's too slow.

battle is a GENRON special...so let that sink in a bit also.

How about this from the Herald:

A former standout in the Richmond Heights area in Miami-Dade, Battle said he grew up idolizing Sean Taylor and dreaming of being a Miami Hurricane before he moved to Broward County with his father during middle school. UM, however, didn’t offer him a scholarship until well after LSU had made a strong case to get him.

Battle, who has a 3.5 GPA, said he would like to study broadcast journalism in college and loves video editing.

I talked about in earlier threads how Battle and Dowels would've killed for miami offers. I know for a fact both of them would've committed on the spot around junior day. It is what it is.

While I disagree heavily on the staffs CB evaluations, I can at least see the "size" excuse with Dowels. No clue why Battle didn't get an offer. + Size, high school production, good coverage skills, explosive, can play CB or S, Good open field tackler, workhorse, etc. Pete said the staff thought he was too slow. But then we took Mayes and turner at DB. This staff knows much more about football than me, but I just don't see what they're seeing.

Everyday I get more ****ed at this stuff as I read more things. It already seems like there are a dozen kids on this list who will be having weekly threads pop up on them when they're making plays for other schools.

If I ever see Mark D'Onofrio on the street, I'm going to punch him right in his fat ******* face. What a disgrace.

Battle will be playing on Sundays. Best DB prospect in south Florida IMO. Very interested to see the rest of the list

Great Film. Doesn't make any sense that we would let a stud safety like that with good grades leave town without putting up a fight.

:ohlord:

Rustled

Like i hinted to earlier...

Other schools must be laughing at us when they come down here to recruit some of these kids.

All this garbage about our coaches finding "hidden gems" around the country and we're ignoring some of the gems in our backyard.

If you're gonna take questionable athletes then take the ones from South Florida who have been competing against the best competition in the nation for their whole life.
