D.Perryman on Tracy Howard

I'm a bit worried if a true freshman who hasn't played a game yet can read our offense so well already and is calling out plays and routes before the play.

I'm not. Our offense is a version of the West Coast offense, and it's a **** of a lot more involved than a dumb spread offense like West Virginia's or Mike Leach's air raid for example.

All it says to me is that Howard has great anticipation, which is a GREAT attribute for a cornerback to have. I also love reading about how physical he is.

His limitations are that he has avg speed...and he is just avg size wise or a little slight...imma give him 5'11 170-175.

But the kid has "instincts"..(think Sean Spence)..a high football I.Q....and has shown the work ethic so far that will make up for his physical limitations which will get better after his freshman season.

The kid is also battle tested...Miramar since he's been there has sent off atleast 5 div 1 wr's...those are guys he went against every day in practice the last 4 yrs before even getting to college.

I can call out the plays if I practice against the same ******* team every day... dammit mane...

This is an excellent point, and on a bigger scale I think this is one of the reasons why South Florida is different than other big talent producing areas across the nation. A significant # of the best kids always seem to end up in the same few schools and grind against each other daily. Tracy going against kids like that every day is a tremendous advantage for him over other kids, both @ the HS level and now.
