D$, Lu, Pete... What's up with Chick?

Duvalco. I'm glad someone finally has the balls to say that about chick because I've been feeling the exact same way as you my friend for a while now! I just hope he balls out this year.

I'm not worried about Chick, but I don't think he will ever be a consistent pass threat. He's good at what he does, he has great technique, great hustle, great willpower, but his measurables so far are just average at best. I look at him as a run-blocking end that will get 4-6 sack a year, but is unquestionably a leader on this team because of his work ethic and tenacity. I love the kid, but I think people are possibly expecting a little too much from him, however I would love for him to prove me wrong.
 
CLowney at South Carolina was a 5 star guy that got all the attention last year...he played in 14 games had 5 sacks 35 tackles and made pre and post season award mentions..this year he is on all the Defensive watch lists.........Chick played in 12 games had 5 sacks 38 tackles and forced several fumbles getting one..he also got MVP for the all star game that clowney played opposite chick in......Yet chick was not mentioned in any watch lists NONE...I think Chick knows this and has a monster year.

So a few practices and Chick does not have 10 sacks..and you guys say he is not an impact player will suck this year..WTF

What has perriman done, ?? ripped off heads had 20 tackles a practice.??? are you really worrying how DP will play I sure as **** an not..

Guys sept 2nd is when you can comment on how any of the players played....

Its practice be patient

and to think that chick ever gives less than 100% is questionable. from everything that i've seen, heard, and read, the kid does not do anything less than his all.

i agree with JB. he's a great, solid kid. probably one of the best, if not the best, leaders on the team. but sky-high expectations for him might be a bit much. i'll be content if he skips the sophomore slump and continues to improve little by little.
 
I'm not worried about Chick at all... it looks like he put on some good weight. I was just curious how he has been doing in practice. He is definitely one of those guys you don't hear about b/c he isn't flashy but gets the job done and more
 
It's funny to see some comments on here. You guys need to realize that this entire board is for opinions and that there are zero experts in here. Just a bunch of opinions. Will help with the frustration some get from these boards. Entertainment values fulfilled.

I think his motor alone will net him more sacks than that but I agree with you in general. Though I bet Seantrel Henderson will disagree that he isn't really an outside speed rusher, he showed some really nice flashes last year and to be honest, he still looked like a baby out there.

Even though his weight room numbers dont jump out, physically he looks like a different guy. If those big DT's in the middle can hold up, I think Chick is going to do some big things this year, if still a bit inconsistent.

This is what I meant by struggling. Stats wise only. He will be the focus of the other team and free up the other guys.
