Since Porters been back we have given up:

VT: 23 carries 98 yards
UVA: 25 carries 60 yards

to RBs. Pretty big improvement from the constant gashing we took early in the season.
 
Porter better not pull a Forston et al.

Use your brain.

Full season and the skies the limit for him.

Yep. It's not a coincidence that the run defense looks better with Porter in the lineup, Pierre improving, and Robinson buying in.

Now we just need to get DP, EJ, and DB back on the field.

I don't think he means that Porter would have the intention of coming back if he didn't do well at the combine.
 
Porter is a ******* beast, but his resume' is too small. If he stayed another year, he could potentially go in the top 3 rounds.

Tyric McCord woiuld have redshirted on any other decently depthed Canes team.

He is going to be a helluva passrusher IMO.

I sure hope he stays, gets healthy and absorbs another offseason of Utough. It would be nice to have him start every game of '13 (crosses fingers)
 
Maybe I am talking out of my a** here, but from the small sampling I have seen of Porter this year he could be a round 1 or 2 draftee. I am saying that only if he stays healthy, goes through another year of Utough, and has a standout season next year. If you key in on him, whenever he is single blocked he blows up his man. Even when he is double teamed he stands his ground ala Vince Wilfork.

Nah. Porter is pretty good (not 1st round good) but a guy with his injury history isn't going in the 1st round regardless.

Just my humble opinion. Rarely do I proclaim a player has first or second round status. All I am saying is he passes the eye test.
 
I've seen Porter drive back double teams on a few occasions.

It seems like our defensive tackle position may be adequate next season. Pass rush is the next step.

Well, Ricardo Williams played one snap against UVA and didn't get pancaked into the tenth level of ****. I think he's gonna be a stud.
