Tried to tell em all the 5-7 3-9 **** was dumb and premature, got called a clueless Mariobro
We had zero pass rush this year. Zero. Some was Guidry but I don’t think we have the talent we thought we did.
I think the WRs were open so dam easy if affected how fast the d-line had to get there. With our revamped CB room guys are gonna be locked up on far more occasionsIt was bad but I’m dying to find average time to throw data.
My gut tells me Miami’s opponents threw the ball quicker than about 98% of other teams, because we covered NOBODY all year. The entire season the opposing QB hit his back foot, his first read was open, and the ball was out. It was insane. Go back and watch the Syracuse game. McCord was playing against air in our back 7. It’s hard to get to the QB when the ball is out in 2.5 seconds. But your point is valid, we didn’t have many wins in one on one pass rushing situations.
Yes and that's why the DC hire is so crucial. Whoever he is, he would be well served to hire a staff of technical coaches adept at teaching and developing young talent. What his defensive philosophy is will also be a significant factor as far as scheme is concerned. However, whatever his schematic preferences are, it is important that he establishes rock solid fundamentals as the foundation. Guidry to me was a guy who did a good deal of unconventional things that were nothing more than silly gimmicks because there was absolutely no foundation in terms of fundamentals, discipline and communication. That probably the biggest thing how will the linebackers and young defensive lineman develop. If a few of them take the next step in development that will take our defense up another level to actually being good. Whomever the DC is they need to make sure they have teachers to maximize that front 7
Agreed on all points. Look at the DEs who played most of the snaps. Bain was ok but was coming off an injury and clearly missing the burst and explosiveness that we need from our weakside DE. He may be too big for the position. Baron was an undisciplined freelancer who refused to set an edge. He fattened up vs the weaklings on the schedule then went AWOL in conference play. Alston was hurt for most of the conference schedule. Mesidor was coming of an injury and was playing out of position at DT. Malik Bryant is clearly not starting caliber and kids like Cole McConathy, Armando Blount, Marquis Lightfoot and the rest of the freshmen DEs weren't ready to contribute in a meaningful manner. This offseason will be crucial for all those young kids.It was bad but I’m dying to find average time to throw data.

I think I heard this before somewhereWhat will happen is everyone will predict us to win 5 or 6 games next year, then once the season starts and we beat UF and/or ND, they'll change their expectations to an undefeated season, and then if that doesn't happen they'll say it was a complete failure...
YikesThis is the reality of our current roster. Ws vs Bethune, USF & NC State at best. We should not be in this position whatsoever; well managed programs should not be in this position. We are not developing!
This will be the most important offseason in decades. Whoever QB comes and if a QB comes next year he won’t have the pieces Killa Cam had.
Real tough to replace below production obviously outside Cam ….
WR combo X,George & Horton (better than any WR in roster or coming /debatable)
Arroyo a beast
Martinez a beast and a monster protecting the QB
River & hope Anez stays
Borregales - top FG kicker
Hope Messidor stays and play DE
We all know DC and other coaches must find new gigs.
Not a mope by any means but it discomforts me the idea of a potential awful season with 2 huge rivalry games at home…. In year 4
Current roster is 3&9 next year…. Open to debate
MUCH TO DO AND CHANGE MARIO… MUCH TO DO AND CHANGE
Assuming a big time receiver is available in Spring TP.
I'm assuming said big time pass catcher is already on a preminent program and just comes to Miami for the bag...
