He's the punter. They're like half-members of the team as it is. What's he supposed to be doing, studying film for hours on Sunday? On top of the fact that he executes at an extremely high level unlike the majority of the team. This is a miss.
 
OP makes good points... we need accountability from each and every position on both sides of the ball. With that said $8M/yr is very generous compensation to get the culture corrected.

also they have lives beyond football. people have to understand that.

This is such a reach lmao. As long as kickers and punters are good at their job, they can do whatever they want.

Wait until you hear what pitchers do on their off days. But I guess it’s bc all MLB teams have bad culture as well.

I have a buddy that was a journeyman MLB reliever and his only request when signing minor league deals was to room with a non starting pitcher on the road. According to him, they would get absolutely smashed and chase ***** every night other than the night before they would start.

They’re also on the golf course when it’s not bullpen day or their day to start. You think they’re being “team first guys” showing up at 11am to shag bp for a 7pm start? Lmao no chance.

There has been this notion on this board that we are recruiting the wrong type of players who do not have the attitude or appropriate mental fortitude to be good football players. That’s not it. We absolutely need to create a culture of winning. But you create a culture of winning with talent and coaching. Talent and coaching lead to wins. Wins lead to a winning culture. But it all starts with talent and coaching, both of which were entirely underwhelming on Saturday and in particular against Middle Tennessee. And so, yeah, culture is a problem but it is way behind talent, talent acquisition and the coaches earning their contract.

Not disagreeing with you at all and you have a unique advantage as you have inside info. With that being said what is the first thing you would change to get us headed in the right direction?
