dont disagree with you. but i thought the same thing about schnelly, JJ, Erickson and Butch, and all bolted after success here, so moving up is always a good possibility regardless of what Golden says. dont get me wrong, if he continues on the present course, i think he can have a lot of success at UM.
Well Shnelly and Butch chose wrong. JJ had aspirations to win big in the NFL and did just that. Erickson was let go when the NCAA dropped the hammer on us. Golden strikes me as the type of guy who enjoys the college football experience. He's at his best developing young people into grown men. Not everybody aspires to be in the NFL. Until Golden actually leaves I'm going to say he is exactly where he wants to be and knows this is the best place to build a monster that can compete for championships every year.
I will choose to believe the HC rather than take wild guesses and shots in the dark because so and so did it before. Golden is a smart man and he can do big things here at Miami. He's at least 5-10 years away from going anywhere IMO. Let's hope he pulls a Bowden and is a thorn in the CFB world's backside for 25 years...
Erickson wasn't let go. He left.
if this message board existed when schnelly, JJ et al. were here, we would have written the same thing about their staying here. and we would have been reporting that they said the same things that today golden says. how can golden say anything else?
regardless, it's all speculation and i could care less. i would like to see golden return the program to competing for NC. if he does that, and i think he is heading in that direction with a few years to go, then i'd be real happy. we've been essentially irrelevant for 10 long years and it burns my a hole to see alabama and ND at the top right now knowing that we could have been there with some better decisions.

If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle...
Funny how Golden is unproven but our fans are already predicting his departure before his success. You can just watch Golden work and understand the man is a winner. Four years of watching a ****** trip over his own feet and fail to put together coherent sentences gives a fan a comparison between right and wrong I guess...
