I haven’t been following much since the **** 5-7 season but **** it looks like 1 year has aged Mario tremendously 🤣 poor guy

Mario Cristobal praised freshman Rueben Bain's progress in the weight room, and seemed pleased with the running back room as a whole, highlighting the newcomers.

I'm so surprised about Fletcher I slept. I will still sleep till I see it. But Bain everyone knew was going to be a day one guy. Once he's on the field they won't be able to take him off the field. Too good of a player, Donald type physicalness.

My question with Fletcher is his speed. It’s so hard to tell in highlights.

I hope he is great but I’m with you, I need to see it. I’m assuming he is 4th on the depth chart so not sure how many touches he gets if Chaney, Parrish and Allen are all healthy. Over the course of the year I hope he gets like 10-15 touches a game

Kid does run violent asf opposite of Thad who I didn't like as a rb. This dude looked like Eddie George at AH.

Is there any reason to just effuse young players with praise like this?

I don't get it.

He doesn’t have great speed, he very quick for his size, he powerful and a good receiver out of the backfield

I have seen he can catch and he seemed to pull away on his TD in the all-American came so I’m really excited to see how he fits in the rotation. Maybe we can finally pick up a 3rd and 1 this year. I think it’s been 5 years since we have been able to run the ball for a first down consistently.

Yes and when I say great speed I mean he’s not a burner (4.3 guy), but he can run. Watch his feet he’s very quick though especially at the size he is

I think with this OL anyone can pick up a 3rd and 1. Or they will be able to when that OL starts to gain XP.

Running downs give me Bain and Mesidor at end align with LT and Moten if he can man up.

Bain and Mesidor should be able to set the edge. Then you can kick them inside on 3rd down rush and bring in a Kelly, Harvey or whoever else to rush the edge.
I hate that year after year, the DT position has been reduced to “if he can man up”, “if he can wrap up”, “if he can get off blocks”…etc.

I’m with you guys on Fletcher but man a legit 6-2 225 as a freshman? I mean if he had great speed he would be a #1 prospect in the country type recruit so I try and remember that

But I’m with @BeastMode saw him show plenty of speed against top competition and saw his actual size (pause) advantage and really started to change my tune about him

Agreed of course still need to see it but him and Citizen is an intriguing combo for the future of Citizen can get healthy

Not that the talent we've had there has been elite, but has the DT really hurt our past defenses? Last year, the LBs and secondary were the weak link which really hurt our defense.

In a Saban or Kirby Smart - the lack of big DTs would be a problem. But if any DC can scheme around that it's probably Guidry.

All in on Bain. We've been begging for a kid like this for a long time.
IIRC, Bain supposedly had some crazy *** stat like 39 sacks in his Senior season. When I read that, I was thinking, “No way! They must’ve been counting every tackle he made, at or behind the LOS as a sack. He can’t be THAT **** good!”
Fast forward to present day….. seeing this kid dominate upperclass COLLEGE OL this soon and this often…..bruh…. this kid probably did put up dem sack stats, and early reports say, that he is that **** good. When he gets more experience…. Watch out. Glad he’s on our side!
