You would hope that would be enough to satisfy the, let's call them "conspiratives", but I doubt it.
I know, right? I mean the progressives are blaming Republicans for what an illegal alien nutbag nudist, that lives in a house/bus with BLM and rainbow flags, did.

Those wacked out progressives are out of their minds. I mean even the Washington post was jawing about this somehow being the fault of Republicans.

How do you lefties twist your brain enough to somehow blame an entire party, and basically half the country, for what some completely crazy illegal alien, who probably doesn’t even know what the platforms are for each party, does.

Have you heard me blame R's for this wack job? D's immediately blaming R's for this wacko is just as wrong as R's immediately questioning the incident prior to the facts coming out, which is the point of my post when you look at the posts related to this incident over the past few days.

D's get blamed for the Congress softball shooter as well. It's all BS. There are crazy people out there period.

I will say this to both sides. Constantly villainizing the other side does not help. It can give these whack jobs a target to hone in on.

Very tragic situation. Both firefighters need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. And fck the Mayor too

Let's not.

The reason conspiracies and paranoia have taken over is because that used to be the domain of media. If there was a story to be had, they'd dig deep to find it. Now that they just paraphrase press releases, that paranoia has transferred down to other people. The bigger problem is that the people who that benefits don't care how they get their way, so they cast a blind eye to deception instead of insisting on principles applied evenly.

The funny thing is people wouldn't come up with "conspiracies" if they were transparent about it.

Show the body cam footage of the incident where Paulie P opened the door and ran over to grab part of the hammer... or whatever the new narrative is.

Funny that one media website posted an article that there was a third person who opened the door. Then the next day... literally .... posted an article saying that it was a conspiracy to think there was a 3rd person! lol

Be transparent and show everything and answer about a security alarm on an $8 million house (whether it went off or not or wasn't turned on). Since they aren't... peeps are gonna be peeps

IMO, they said unknown person because they didn't know who actually opened the door.

Yeah it was Politico....

“Officers arrived at the house, knocked on the front door and were let inside by an unknown person. They discovered DePape and Pelosi struggling for a hammer, and after they instructed them to drop the weapon, Scott said, DePape took the hammer and ‘violently attacked’ Pelosi,” Politico reported Friday, citing San Francisco Police Chief Bill Scott.
They started the "conspiracy theories" cause they wrote it to imply that an unknown person opened the door and the cops then saw the 2 struggling. It wouldn't have spread all over the country and on many media outlets if they didn't word it that way... cause it's common sense to interpret that as a 3rd person.

But yes, I agree that they have since corrected it to say that it was Paulie P who opened the door. Which of course raises more questions... but maybe someday they'll show the body cam footage so we can see what happened when Paulie P opened the door and how he got himself back into position with the hammer with the Depape guy

I agree with you regarding media not holding up their end and doing their job properly. It definitely has had an effect on the conspiratorial bent this nation has gone on. However, I think a higher amount of blame has to do with social media and the number of people who rely on it as an information source. And by the way, media blows these situations as well - ex. Jussie Smollett.

It takes time to truly investigate these stories and separate rumor from fact. I mean, it's less than a week since the incident occurred and people are already expecting body cam footage, 911 call recordings, and surveillance camera footage to be released. The cops are still investigating and the DA's office is getting their case together. And I'm not saying this should take weeks to provide to the public, but you also don't want to blow your case by immediately sharing evidence with the public.

Dude, part of the problem is this expectation of an immediate answer and proof. The police hadn't even questioned Pelosi and the media was already creating the story. This story isn't even a week old and you're expecting every camera recording and 911 call info before the police have even had the chance to go through all the evidence. Add onto that they can blow up their own case by distributing evidence too early.

I mentioned it to someone the other day, when these events occur. Wait a week.

I agree with this and I get that the “conspiracy theories” are wild and don’t help. But immediately after the incident the news media and multiple people in congress blaming Rs with no evidence?!? And u are worried about these conspiracies that are mostly just people joking around on the internet in response to ludicrous allegations that were spewed immediately to gaslight?!?

I think u are focused on the wrong side of things here. Maybe u are criticizing them equally… which is fine. But which one does more damage?

IMO, immediately saying or inferring this is right wing violence, or MAGA or equating the guy’s conspiracies with conservatives was WAY more over the top extreme and gaslighting

Yet few people notice they do this every time. Spew a story that disparages one side and confirms every partisan bias on the other. Then the details emerge and it's nothing, but the clicks came and eyes viewed pages and advertisers paid for every one.

I think they are both horrible and do tremendous damage. At this point, whenever a wack job commits a crime, the media (MSM and conservative) immediately start looking to see what political leanings the guy has and they run with it based on some FB posts or whatever the guy has on his account. It is lazy journalism and pits people against each other. At the end of the day, the guy's a wack job and any little motivation would cause it to happen.

At the same time, the media immediately starts to cobble together a story and wrap it in a bow so they can move onto the next news cycle. In their haste to do it, every single unconfirmed rumor gets put out as fact and taken as gospel by many. It ends up unfairly villifying the victim or the perp before the police themselves even know all the facts.
