I remember playing him when I was at Dade Christian. Derwin played at Northwest Christian who were bitter rivals of ours way back then. Dude was freaking immense! We also had South Fork High School from Ft. Pierce/Stuart come down to play us at home a couple of years later in 83 IIRC. South Fork had this super star RB that was a national recruit and that's all anyone could talk about that week. Some kid named Cleveland Gary. We kicked off to start the game and of course Gary was returning. My buddy actually made the tackle(sort of) after Gary plowed right through him as it was just enough to cause Gary to get tripped up.
