Yea, for the life of me I’ll never understand why Russell was in that class. It was a head scratcher from day one and still feels that way for many of us. I get it - the whole Columbus mafia connection - but still, I never really understood that take at all.

I just hope he’s a good locker room guy who pushes people with hustle plays in practice… definitely went against Mario’s “it has to look a certain way” phrase he threw out

I'm right there bro. The way it was explained to me was that part of Mario's vision/plan was to take highly ranked studs and then supplement them with kids who are not rated highly yet were extremely productive in high school with high character and high grades. I understand the theory of what he is trying to do but when the rubber of theory meets the road of reality, it's not going to work out like you planned it much of the time.

This is an excellent theory! It just takes patience, something that we don’t seem to have in Miami. We see low ranked guys flourishing all over the country in their redshirt junior and senior years! It’s “Miami the Microwave”

Clearly ur the moron, because ur completely missing my point.

Obviously he needed more time. My question was why? Injuries? He's an idiot? Some people provided answers like, "He's just not good", he's a JAG", etc. But others kept insisting that nobody ever claimed he would be an instant impact player. Those are the posters that I am engaging with.

So if u have nothing of relevance to add, go elsewhere.

What is so hard to understand? You think a 17 year old is the same as a 24 year old? He was young. See my initial point. He needed time. He got it.

Again, my question was: many people were touting Blount as a generational, instant impact talent, EVEN if he reclassified. What happened?

Some said he's not good, just
a JAG, etc. You say he wasn't as mature as first thought. Fine.

However, some people challenged the assertion that anyone ever claimed he'd meaningfully contribute right away, and that two years before seeing the field was always the plan. I posted many past quotes demonstrating that to not be the case at all, yet they still argued. That is the issue I'm addressing now. I'm not disputing anyone's reasons for why he needed more time. Clearly he did. Get it now??
