Cory White, Jermaine Johnson, CP Update

Is this Curtis Porter the same Curtis Porter everybody is harping on being our best DT that will make or break the defense next season if he goes pro? Sounds like Porter is being told to seek shelter elsewhere. I have a feeling this recruiting class is going to have more than 15 recruits in it once Golden cuts more dead weight.

yeah, b/c white and JJ got a raw deal when golden came in. they were poised to start if shannon was still here.
(rolls eyes)

Some dudes just need an excuse as to why things didn't work out for them. Coach don't like me is a very tried and true one for lots of guys.

Wasn't sure whether to post this here or on EITS but it has schollie relevance so I came here.

I was chillin with these 3 last night and got some updates on their statuses.
Cory White has officially been released from the team. The medical staff has told him that the major knee injury that he suffered (dont remember exactly what) won't allow him to continue to play so the release decision what agreed upon by both sides and not bitter. The administration is giving him a scholarship to finish his masters next year but he said it isn't affiliated with the team's schollies whatsoever.

Not sure what JJ's status was previously but I was told yesterday that he is currently filling out paperwork to transfer to Arizona State. Not sure if he was currently officially on the team and taking up a schollie but if so he's planning on leaving.

Talked to Curtis about possibly going pro and didn't get a straight answer either way. Granted we were pretty ****ed up but still sounded like he was either just not telling or hasnt decided yet so I honestly have no clue

Another quick note... from talking to all three of these players none of them have much respect for Golden and do not like him as a coach. Part of this may be that depth chart position and lack of PT but they echoed what we have already heard about a disparity between Shannon and Golden recruits. They went on to say that he likes to talk a lot and then fails to backup what he says and lead by example.

Again this is not my subjective opinion just what i'm relaying from the players themselves

yeah and freshmen that i chill with are the exact opposite.

Briscoe definitely took a big one for the team, especially the coaches.

What?

Dycane, I was thinking the same thing reading this. A new poster comes on here and just happens to be hanging out with all three of these guys at the same time (White, JJ and Porter), and all 3 of them just happen to talk trash about Golden... Oh, and they were all "pretty ****ed up" ? Seriously? I'm surprised Luther Robinson's dad wasn't chillin with them.

Troll.

not saying its true, but if it is, it's safe to say good-bye to the lazy malcontents that has riddles this team in the last decade

I mean I've been friends with the three of them for a couple years now several time this season curtis and cory at least have said this before. This is just the first time there has been something truly worthy of posting on here other than this. Also, this isnt new information I was just adding what I heard. This party wasn't the first time and its not always a drunk situation so IMO the situation here is irrelevant. Other people have already commented giving their opinions and saying that this minor dissension is not uncommon. I was just putting what I know out there, that wasn't even the important part of the post.

and yea purp Andrew Blumes

Fair enough, Blumes. But if you read your post objectively, it sounds like (a) a troll job or (b) legit gossip that makes these three guys look foolish.

* CW: Al Golden publically said he was going to be their starting blocking TE before his injury. How is that bias against Shannon kids?
* JJ: He got beat out by Erik Flowers. We all saw the proof on the field that Flowers was just plain better. Oh, and so was Ben jones for that matter. JJ may have more talent than Jones and more experience than Flowers. But he wasn't able to deliver on the field, and apparently wasn't willing to put in the work to fight for his position back. How does losing his job to Jones -- or Henderson when he came back -- constitute favoritism by AG?
* CP: Of all the 3, this is the most ridiculous. Porter was made a starter only a game or two after he was cleared medically, because he delivered on the field. He vaulted over Smith, King, Grimble and the Freshmen (all Golden recruits), and well as L Rob (Shannon recruit). Where's the bias?

As far talking a lot and not following through, give me 1 example?

He's not the one saying this.

Jimmy Gaines, Davon Johnson, Brandon McGee, AND Stephen Morris AND Jacory Harris would like a word with these guys as well

Not to mention Kendall Thompkins, who was the first guy to hug Golden after the Duke game.

Sorry, can't take OP's word at all.

Free up scholarships for guys who don't suck at football. I hope this info is correct.

And a lot of players don't like the new coaches when programs change leadership. This isn't an outlandish claim.
