2023 Cormani McClain CB Commits to Colorado

It sounds like the delay in making DVD an on field coach.
ok. So if that's truly the hold up, why is he under the impression that was going to happen? Doesn't it make you wonder if he believed that was going to be the case when he committed? Or is this a new demand?

I guess I have a hard time understanding why this would be the hold up on Miami's end IF that was part of the original commitment....

It sounds like an excuse to decommit if it is suddenly an issue on the table....

I get that there are personnel issues (and professional loyalty reputation) at stake if you have to move (or fire if they haven't found alternate positions) anyone to make room for DVD on field; not to mention someone who sounded "informed" stated DVD wanted the Whole room...

...but to me Jan 15 sounds like a deadline FROM Cormani... if DVD isn't in a new spot he expected and desires by then, he may very well announce he is reopening his recruitment, choosing someone else, etc. Tuff situation afoot! But I'm starting to think the import of Jan 15 could be that.

I believe the insiders have said he was told DVD would be his coach

Who knows. Its also possible that he was made a promise before he committed and wants them to deliver before he signs.

And why does he need an excuse? De-committing is very common in the recruiting world and kids don’t need to make up some elaborate ruse to justify their decision.

It's certain within his rights (and not any sort of "wrongdoing") for the kid to tell his recruiter... I'll become a Cane if I can be coached (on field?) by YOU! Mario or whomever said "sure, do it" and we saw the prospective result.

Now maybe AD Radakovich (or others with influence or clout) have been less than thrilled about the logistics of that, and are dragging their feet. (this might be true of other "Mario-" staff changes and buyouts). The kid could conceivably be looking for every excuse to give UM time to get it done; but is running out of patience as he is being wooed left and right! But that scenario would be "on Miami".

Ask the excuse-maker.

I don't know why they offer these bogus reasons for de-commitments, other than to try to make fanbases believe a narrative (which is wholly irrelevant).

Then that's on Mario if true...
Indirectly, maybe. You seem to be assuming after a lousy staffing job last year and a lousy season to boot, Mario (still) has 100% autonomy and doesn't have to answer in some ways to Radakovich or trustees or others (where 6-figure buyouts or firings are involved.)

He hasn't done anything wrong... I'm here everybody listens to statements that are being made by reporters and assumes that it's real. As of what I know he hasn't come out and stated anything one way or another as to what his final situation is going to be. However from my understanding I will say it is largely on us that this is still occurring.
Let's hope that whomever gets their sht together and soon.

Addae is toilet water. @Cribby even said recruits and parents don't like him. Dude can't coach or recruit. Kirby Smart was/is the DB Savant at Georgia...just like Saban. Georgia gave absolutely no Fs when Addae left.

I don't know about plumbing, but Addae plays bridge with the Frenks and the Radakoviches, and goes to the seafood buffet with Mario. (OK, I made that up.)
