How does this kid compare to Duke? From the limited film I've seen, he's on the same level as a prospect. Kid is as dynamic a RB as I've seen.
Some say he's on the same level as guys like Duke, Matt Thomas, etc. I don't think he is...yet. He's really an exceptional athlete playing RB. He's not a natural RB like Duke, but he doesn't really need to be because he's built differently and has a different skillset.
They're just different prospects and I don't think he's at Duke's level just yet. The unusual thing is he has a chance to be next year.
When you say Duke level, are you comparing Cook to Duke now or Duke as a junior at Norland (which I think is more comparable). Duke as a junior was a great player and I remember the playoff game against Sammy Watkins and co. where Duke scored a TD on offense, defense and special teams, he had an effect in all three phases. Cook has been on a similar tear as late in the season and all playoffs he played every snap on defense while also splitting offensive duties. The playoff game against Northwestern he basically put the team on his back scoring numerous TD on offense (with limited snaps), covered the best receiver for NW (jojo, then Artie when he came in), returned a punt nearly to the house, blocked a field goal attempt, etc. Just an all out dominating performance. He did that about 4 times this year (other NW game, Booker T., Columbus, etc) Dude dominated as the year went on.
I agree he might not be a natural rb like duke but his affect on games is undeniable. He is arguably the best player in dade as a junior. He has things to work on but he is a junior with elite talent/skills
