correct me if I’m wrong but unless Pitt loses their next 2 games we have to beat them to win the ACC.

I’m thinking through some scenarios and obviously the easiest is to win our next 2. But after that it gets complicated.

The easiest way to look at it is UVA, Pitt and Miami are all tied in the loss column. So at a minimum we have to mirror those two teams records over the next 10 days. (Know we have one less game)

But if Pitt loses Saturday and we beat FSU then lose to Pitt we’re going to be 2nd or 3rd. So the only scenario where the Pitt game doesn’t matter is if they lose their next 2.

I was so focused on UVA losing a game I think what got lost for me is now that, that happened Pitt is our main competition now.
 
2 home games to close out the year. Win both and we win the regular season then run off 3 in a row during the ACC tournament and we could get a 2 or 3 seed for the dance.

I 💯 agree with you about the inherent bias… however, they were 21-4 and beat Baylor, Illinois, and Michigan OOC. I think they absolutely deserved to be top-10.

I should have made my argument more in the direction of the difference in rankings between UM and UVA. UVA did deserve to be ranked high as you noted but think our ranking, if we were wearing Carolina blue, would be significantly higher then 13.

Bennett, for some reason, seems to have an aversion to recruiting 3 point sharp-shooters. Never more than one a class, if he's lucky.

He prefers big men to play in his pack line D. So, like in their infamous Top Seed loss to #16 seed UMBC a few years ago, when UVA gets down, they often can't come back.

Yep, when I saw they were down 10 with 15 minutes left in the 2nd half last night, I knew the game was over. That's pretty much an insurmountable lead for them to make up.
