Consolidated updates on late signees

Two things this thread shows:

(1) Golden and crew have done an inexplicably good job with additions for this season. It's unlike what I've ever seen.

(2) Ghost needs to stop playing so much music or whatever he's doing and post more.

Man...did we ever have this type of proactiveness during the last two regimes? Coach G and company seem to not be satisfied with the status quo...the team will just make do type of attitude is gone. It's like he sees a deficiency and then takes action to upgrade it. It's so refreshing to me to see the activity. As far as off-season moves he gets an A+. Regardless of the outcome this season...I definitely now know where the bar is when it comes to refilling the cupboards.

Thanks for the updates man. Quick question. What's the story with Anthony Naser? Was he not a late signee? Shows he's a junior on the roster. So he has 2 to play 2 or 3 to play 2? He is available for 2013 right?

AG is running this thing like a NFL coach would.

And unfortunately, I think that's exactly what he's going to end up being.

Just hope we get a ring or two out of the deal.

I don't seem him leaving unless it's for a ton of money.

I can see him relishing the challenge. Making himself into a CFB legend surely has a similar appeal, but Golden strikes me as the type who wants to prove himself at the highest level.

Unfortunately for us. money is what it will come down to. Challenge or not, when the NFL wants you, they can make it very difficult for you to stay a college coach. 5 million plus a year is very persuasive.

But let's enjoy the time.

Only 8/30 NFL coaches last year made over $5 million, I don't see Golden getting offered anything near that.

Two things

1. There are other coaches, Golden is not the only name available. It is about making the "right" hire, not just a hire.

2. It is a good thing when other teams or the professional ranks want people from your staff. People tend to want to surround themselves with other successful people.

I would not worry about the unknown, since Schnelly Miami has never lost an HC to another college team. I have a feeling the Admin would pay more (like they did for Coker) if the results matched.

So which of these defensive guys are going to play and make an impact this season?

Did u think he was going to leave for the hand jobs?

I meant I don't see him taking an NFL job just for the challenge. They're going to have to show him major $$$. He likes it here. His family likes it here. I don't think he wants to leave.

Gilbert, Kamalu, Renfrow and Elder should all see some action. Possibly Tucker as well. Derosier if he gets cleared.

I don't see Elder playing unless we use him as a PR. Tucker may play STs but I would prefer to RS him as well. Although with his size and speed he could be a STs demon.
