I wouldn't say he can't coach either. Auburn is a far second in that state. They've always played second fiddle to Bama, in state and nationally.
Nationally, they'll pull some, that's the nature of recruiting. As the SEC expands, there's more competition on and off the field. Auburn is at best a middle of the road option for any top talent.
They've got all the bells and whistles that everyone could want, but they're still Bama's little brother. You've got some giant programs in that conference who have deeper pockets and want it more.
They could put something together, but perception plays a big part. As seasons go on, I think their candle will dim even further. Put some seasons together and hope Bama drops off as well, obviously things can change.
