Conference Realignment Thread

Miami and GT to the B1G.......Clemson and FSU to the Big 12.

As we move towards four 16 team super conferences, the ACC is consistently #5. The B1G 10 will pick off two ACC members, the Big 12 will pick off more.

With Louisville going to the ACC, Berry Tramel of The Oklahoman isn't sure the Big 12 is interested in further expansion. But if they are, he sees them moving westward -- specifically, to Boise State and Brigham Young.
"Those are names you can sell," he writes. "It would be a North Division of wild geography -- Iowa State, the Kansas schools, West Virginia, Boise State and BYU -- but it would be football you could sell.
"Boise State and BYU present all kinds of problems in areas besides football. Minor sports travel. Time zone issues. BYU's Sunday play. Boise State's academic reputation, which is campus snobbery but still plays in certain ivory towers. But if it's football you want, Boise State and BYU provide it. Eyeballs. Tradition (Boise State's recent, BYU's more long-term). BYU's big fan base."

While this is all driven by football, I dont see the Big 4 conferences taking Boise or BYU, except maybe the PAC 12

If the ACC just starts replacing teams with big east teams dont they just become the big east?

If this is true we got to bounce as this seems like a dying conference

This realignment business is ******* stupid. Conferences are sacrificing their integrity and product just to make more money. The SEC and maybe the Big 10 are the only conferences that have benefited from this crap, and everyone else has only added teams that make their conference worse in terms of successful football. I hate how everything in this country is dictated by the almighty dollar.

Not only that but didn't miami join the acc because it had more prestigeous academic universities and with the teams leaving and schools like UL,Cincy and uconn joining we're back to the big east. The next step would be to let Marshall with their prop 48 system in.I for one am loving this.
