MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread: Stories, Tales, Lies, and Exaggerations

ESPN would laugh at the ACC if they tried to negotiate after adding Cincy and UCF. The Big 12 added those schools because they were desperate for warm bodies.
The big 12 is miles ahead of the ACC currently. These schools are going to be very good now that they have access to power 5 money

For one thing, they play G5 teams. For another, you said all except Clemson, then describe the dregs of the ACC. Do you really think UCF is a better team than Wake, NC State, UNC, or Pitt?

That's not even mentioning us.
UCF has been on par with every ACC expect for Clemson. Clemson is ACC football. They have carried all the weight since 2015

Very Interesting.

Indeed, & notice “backload” language in ND’s contract. Now it makes sense why they wish to stay independent. That’s y it’s not always good to look at upfront figures. ND clearly has conditions w/in their media rights that can earn them more $. It’ll be interesting to see how this shapes up.

At the end of 2021, UCF ranks after Clemson, Pitt, NC State, WF, Miami, UNC, Louisville, UVA, and FSU in FPI. They have steadily declined since 2017 when they went undefeated. Had you tried to make that argument a year or two ago, it might have been better.

I don't know if you guys know this but before they go on shows like that they're told to disagree and say things that are controversial so that the video gets shared. Two old guys agreeing about things is not going to get views.

Facts. My frat bro did a charity segment w/ Chris Broussard, & Chris told him how it would go. The topic was LBJ. U’re absolutely right; my frat said how it all went down & Chris was gracious enough to give him a glimpse into that world since he wants to do that.

UCF and Ciny have been better than every ACC except for Clemson the last 3-4 years. They would have definitely helped the ACC. But they got offered more money and joined the better conference

U forgot Houston & BYU, as well. They’ve added high quality G5 teams. But the PAC-12 needs to watch its back, b/c I know for sure the B12 is lurking in their backyard

Listen, I know many of us live in this glass house, and I’m not sure wtf FPI is or does, but clearly @ST26 is correct; UCF has out performed every ACC team not named Clemson over the past 5 yrs & it’s not even close in every metrics. Even when facing P5 teams in bowl games, they have a better record than the actual P5 teams in The Conference.

now lets see how they do when they don’t play g5 teams weekly. They’ve also declined since the frost run

Eh; they went 22-4 w/ Fat Josh immediately thereafter & 6-4 during Covid. Even Mario squeaked by during Covid. 2020 was a funky season for sports, so I’m not sure how to gage that. Regardless, w/ Mahlzan they immediately improved. They’re also 6-3 against P5 teams in general during this stretch, including under Fat Josh & Gus.

I feel like we hate on UCF just b/c they’re in FL. They r a quality G5 team. The B12 didn’t add a Temple or UConn; they added 4 high quality G5 teams that’s proved their worth

We don’t hate ucf bc they’re in fl. We hate on them bc of their fans. You gotta be here to see what I mean w them. Also, they lost their qb and likely will not be good next year. Also, Norvell had great success at Memphis. He sucks as a p5 coach same w frost,

I can understand that, in regards to their fans. I don’t have to deal w/ them. Lol. However, ur also talking about two G5 coaches that came over to putrid P5 programs. It’s not like they took their established programs to P5

Nebraska was average prior to frost. They turned putrid under him. Look at their records before him. Fsu is fsu but Norvell has shown he can’t recruit nor can he coach big boy football

Yet, Norvell holds a W against us. Smh.

Under Po Pelini, Nebraska was solid. Under Mike Riley? Ehh, not so much. Remember, Frost took over a 4-8 Nebraska team. Now, to ur point, he’s been there well over 3 yrs & have given us or Big Red nada! I’m sure if he wasn’t a legend at Nebraska, he would’ve been canned.

W/ Norvell, like I said b4, FSU actually looked competent. Their record didn’t reflect it, but under the circumstances, they had a solid 2nd yr compared to yr 1.

The difference between UCF under Frost vs. Malzhan making this move to the B12, Malzhan is a former SEC P5 coach w/ solid success. So it’s not like an inexperienced G5 Coach making the move to the P5. We’re talking apples/oranges comparison

You guys arguing about UCF hypotheticals when bigger things are actually happening within our current conference with actual members.

Corch Dooz takin' Pitt to the B1G AND is going to win it every year!

We own that scumbag and poverty program. Four in a row, six of the last seven, fourteen of the last sixteen….22 of the last 25.

Miss me with that Pitt talk. If the Coastal comes down to our game against them in Hard Rock, I’ll see y’all in Charlotte.

Funny thing is that he's basing all his big talk there too on IF Pickett would've played in their bowl game. Well he played AT HOME for you against us and you were almost a 10 pt. favorite...

Did you see the part where I said had he tried to make that argument a year or two ago, it might have been better?

They've been on a steady decline since Scott Frost. Picking a time when many teams were down while they were up does not mean they're a great team.
