Coming off back-to-back visits to UM, Richards updates latest

How the **** does this kid not realize that he will have a longer and more profitable NFL career at Safety than RB?

He is a top 10 4star RB, but a 5star top 3 FS in the nation.

Not to mention that very few RBs get drafted first round anymore, and their NFL lifespan is the shortest of any position.

You obviously recruit him at whatever position he wants to play and give him a legit opportunity to play there, but Mark should see that he will get on the field sooner at FS than RB here and most places.

And anyone who signs with FL over UM this year (with how bright our future looks right now) is retarded.


I think Mark is just saying the right things so he doesn't seem like such a lock and can still visit other programs and somewhat enjoy his recruitment.
 
What I love about Richards and his potential on D is that hes so raw and new to it that you can only imagine what he can do when he focuses on it full time. Hes extremely in person too. I was kind of surprised when I saw him. Elite guy.

We have room for him at any position.

He would be put best running back recruit over anyone not named Sanders or Cain.

He would be our best WR recruit period.

He is out best safety recruit as well.

As talented as big bro is, he is the better athlete at this stage, no questions asked.

I feel he's honestly exploring his options, but we've got the inside track due to him knowing us far longer than any other school.

He's the most dynamic recruit we've had in a long time. Last time I was this excited to see someone play would be Hester. The hype is real.

You're selling Jeremiah Payton short by saying that. Richards has all the talent in the world and I dig your larger point. But Payton is elite, and Richards tape didn't actually show that much in terms of dynamic receiving. His receptions on tape were mostly short passes out of the backfield. With that said, I'm confident he'd excel at WR if that's where he ends up.

I dont care where he wants to play he is a must get. Probably should be the #1 guy on our board. Extremely bad look if we miss on him. Really talented and a legacy cant let him get away.

Imo that did not sound like a positive interview for us with a kid whose brother is currently a star on the team. He made sure to say Florida was recruiting him on offense and us as an athlete. This should be a slam dunk if he wants to play rb and can beat everyone else out offer him as a rb if he doesn’t beat out the player he will move to defense.

Thanks for the insight. The staff has offered a bunch of guys at RB and WR that are rated higher on some recruiting services. Ratings don't mean sh** and are not entirely accurate, but I wonder how it would affect his recruitment if some of those other guys commit before he makes his decision.
 
This kid is not 100% Cane... I really wish I could say otherwise but his far from a lock in my opinion

Agreed... I don't think he's a master lock like some homers believe
 
Great **** as always Stefan.

Everything that Richards said in that interview, is equivalent to "coach speak". That interview had a similar feel to when Richt stands at a podium during game week and talks about Savannah St. being such a great opponent.

This kid is all Cane!

I got the same vibe.. Like he wants to go and create his own legacy.. And he's saying hey I wish UM well, but I have my own decision to make

Maybe he will be a Frank gore and have a long career... I'm just saying we don't know.. But keep up your narrative.
