Colorado sucks…

ND State will be OK. probably get better as the year goes on...and that run game will wear down a lot of teams. If they get hot in the post season and get some favorable match ups you never know how far they can make it.

A lot of the times (Notice I'm saying not always because I think Eastern Washington caught a mid tier Power5 school a few years ago) these upsets occur early in the season. New wrinkles, new players, new schemes...all for both sides. Its def something that can catch you.

Colorado survived and I dont think ND State played all that well after halftime.

Correct. Colorado had 1st and 10 with 1:40 to go. NDSU only had 1 time out left. Instead of taking a knee and forcing to NDSU to burn their last time out, Sanders had his son throw a long downfield pass which was incomplete. Clock stopped and now NDSU still had that time out. They ended up forcing Colorado to punt with 38 seconds left.

If Deion takes a knee or even runs the ball on that first down, game is essentially over and NDSU never gets the ball back and make it interesting.

fyi. it wasnt deions call per post game presser. Shad checked out of a run play to a pass play bc he had 1 on 1 coverage with hunter. that said, that teams offense is the only reason they even win games. still not an overall well coached team and that d is horrific.

Huh? Their FCS dominance started in 2011 winning 9 national championships since then, with the last one in 21. In 22 they lost in the championship game. Of their 3 losses in 22, 1 was to FBS Arizona by 3 and 2 were to eventual champion SDST. 2020 and 2023 were their worst years in that span losing in the quarterfinals and semifinals last year.

Refs burned like 2 or 3 seconds off the clock on the second to last play. If they don’t do that NDST has another play to win at the 5.

yeah but other than that they have been pretty average

Nah. We have not had an offense like theirs and not had a player like Hunter or a QB like Shedeur. We've also been a 7 win team instead of a 5 win team...

I noticed that as well. The commentators were also talking about it right after that play had ended. Like, WTF are these refs doing? The game clock operator also let a couple seconds run off the clock after the player was clearly down making a 1st down. Usually, an extra second runs off the clock once a player is tackled after making a first down, but 2 seconds ran off after that play.
