Mallory has been here 5 years.....5.
He has looked the same awkward way blocking because he doesnt have the want to...hence you see the lunging, whiffing, holding....hes either catching half the time.....how come we almost dont see that with Brantley, Mammarelli, and Arroyo?.
You think Geseicki for the Dolphins who has been in the league is any different....the dolphins pretty much have given up on him being a blocker at te unless its against dbs.
A te coach should 100 percent be a recruiting spot. Same as a rb coach.
With Field and before that Hartley thats what youw ant there.
Yes.
And I would point out that Mallory is occasionally a very nice DOWNFIELD blocker. Once he has some momentum, his size can be very helpful to pushing a smaller DB out of the way.
But from a 3-point stance? Yeah, that is NOT where I want to see Will Mallory blocking. Whether it is his height, his footwork, his use of arms...whatever it is, he is NOT the guy I want to block coming out of his stance on the line of scrimmage.
Two different types of blocking. It's why you see some of the commentators get excited when a WR makes a good downfield block. Because THOSE blocks are about hustle and heart. Doesn't mean that you want that same WR blocking in-line when the ball is snapped.
