Colin McCarthy

lol McCarthy practically won the GT game by himself. He was a monster that game. Like someone else said, everyone just likes to **** on players when they're here if they're not playing like All-Americans, than realize how much we miss them when they're gone.

This.

CMac had more than a few moments here. This isn't a case of Beason going from merely average to All-Pro. This is a case of our fans being WOATish. The kid misses some tackles playing out of position, and you crucify him? Weaksauce. But not surprising.

No surprise here.

He was misused when he was here, either through injuries or other issues.

He was far from complete as an LB but in the NFL they know how to maximize your talents, and CMac had tons of talent. Good for him, kid is a relentless football player.

How was he Misused???

When they moved him to the middle out of necessity. It was a last minute move and it made him look terrible. Did you not watch any games last season?

For the most part, they tried to allow McCarthy to do what he did best. His best position for all of his time here appeared to be weakside backer. He never looked that instinctive here and was best in chase mode. They tried to keep him weakside and I don't have a problem with that. Moreso their problem was that they waited too long to give up on Kylan Robinson. McCarthy could've had a much better senior year had we just bit the bullet and moved him earlier which is what they should've done for the good of the TEAM, not McCarthy IMO. As for his prospects in the pros, I'd be surprised if he stays healthy. I was never all that impressed with his instincts but I thought the bigger problem with him in the middle was that he's fragile. I can't see him playing a 16 game schedule in the pros.

I remember the USF game in Tampa a couple years ago. C-Mac dominated that game. He was making plays and talking **** all over the field. It was an awesome performance.

Cmac had alot of double digit tackle days for us. He could never cover the PA here, but with competent, good coaching, I hope he kills it in the NFL.

CMac was always a good player. It will be interesting to see if he will have a long career in the league. Wish he was on this years team.

+1
I just hope he stays healthy... He pretty reckless but he gave his all... And didnt he have like 120 tackles his senior year and he missed 1 game? Why are some fans talking as if he accumulated 75 tackles his senior year?

Game-sealing INT today to go along with three weeks of tremendous play at middle linebacker.

If he can stay healthy, he looks like a real pro.

With another nice game for the Titans. Led the team in tackles and iced the game with an int late in the 4th.

He was a good player here.

A lot of our fan base gets on guys if they aren't the next Ray Lewis, Michael Barrow, etc. Then after they are gone they realize they were pretty good.

While this thread SHOULD be about a Cane having success in the NFL, it will invariably turn into a blame and ****-slinging fest against one Randy Shannon. Have at it, guys.

Shouldn't be. Shannon recruited McCarthy personally and always liked him.

That is the case isn't it? The kid could play and gave everything he could. Instead, dorks on TOS just dumped on him like he sucked *** and couldn't tie his shoes.

Worst fans in CFB. Ever.

THe kid could play.

We'll find out that he did not know how to watch gametape until he was taught in the NFL.

He led the team in tackles and was an all ACC player... And besides that one article about Shields who had just learned how to play corner all of our prospects have been regarded as smart athletes and advanced ball players...
