Why would you want Kaaya to shirt? He is clearly our future, and by many indications is **** close to being our present. F**k playing for 2018! If he is close to as good and hard of a worker as we think he is he won't be here in 2018 regardless.

If we had a really good incumbent at QB then maybe I'd agree.

Even if Williams comes back healthy and takes over the starting spot, I want Kaaya getting groomed with some game reps. He's gonna be a good one, and I wanna maximize our opportunity while we got em

If Williams never gets hurt, there is not even a conversation. Well, there would be. It would go like this.."I can't believe how fast Kayya has gotten so far ahead of Olsen in just one fall camp."

And will Winston be around for his RS Senior or even RS Jr year?

Winston was backing up a first round pick at QB and Alabama's current starting QB. Kaaya is 10x more talented than the seniors. He can help us this year even if not starting and being managed carefully.

I just hate the thought of going out of our way to RS him

Williams is/was not the answer. Lulz at anyone crowning him. I hope he gets back so he gets the opportunity he waited patiently for, but please let's not crown a guy that couldn't supplant an injured, erratic Stephen Morris. If he were that good, golden would/should have played him last year.
 
LULZ at anyone who doesn't think Williams could have a good year with the talent he has around him. LULZ at anyone who thinks he automatically sucks because he was the backup last year. Backups always suck when they get their chance to start. That logic is so sound.

What the fck does crowning him even mean? Because some of us think he's an accurate passer with experience and great leadership qualities and could have had a good season with the talent at his disposal means we're "crowning" him? Some of you dudes aren't happy unless you're crying about every single thing UM.
 
Williams simply isn't a mechanically sound quarterback. He's mediocre. A nice backup, and nothing more.

Unless you start right off the bat as a freshman, Which most players dont do, then you sat behind somebody for a stretch. if you applied that logic to everyone then the vast majority college players suck. Your logic on this is 100% flawed

Possibly. All I was saying was, some of the comments about Williams were a little over the top considering everything we know. He may very well be a solid qb, I truly have no idea. But what do know is that golden refused to play him even when Morris was clearly injured. I thought that was a mistake cause I thought why not rest Morris for say the WF game or the UNC game and let Williams get some experience. It would have been nice to see what we have in Williams. As I said with everything we know, it doesn't seem golden believed Williams gave him the best chance to win even when the starting qb was injured.

Hopefully he comes back and gets to play this season cause it would be terrible for him to not get an opportunity.

I think our best bet this year is Williams. He may not bring you back once you're down but hopefully he's good enough to manage the game.
 
Williams manages the game i guess but doesnt blow me away. Would like to see a star emerge which, may never happen.
 
Did people conveniently forget Kaaya also won a state title in one of the two best states for HS competition and talent? Laugh, this board is grasping at straws with each and every practice.
